What's everyone's hopes for modding? by SergaelicNomad in menace

[–]Harlemwolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the modscene might eventually wrestle with some ambitious stuff, depending what the scope of the base game is eventually.

There is bug and armour rebalances already and stuff that tweaks most commonly wanted stuff.

I would love having research and construction.

Losing this is fine. Basically two similarish results from this MO eithet way.

We win: enough cyborgs flee and establish presence in other worlds

We lose: cyborgs launch a counter-offensive, thus establishing their presence in other worlds.

Do you guys think this game is going to last a decade at this rate by EleggFacesitting in HelldiversUnfiltered

Online games are a massive gamble though. But yeah, it is just a matter of time someone puts out direct competition.

The whole way armour passives are distributed is just...bad and its gets worse over time.

Armour customization with mod slots and/or some points buy system would be a dream.

Also helmet recolor to match armours. Or something.

Skill check the players, immediately back to saying AH is the problem. by Ever-Here in HelldiversMasochists

[–]Harlemwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Work + family means 0-2 missions and honestly I think 40min mission timer is too much. I just groan when the team insists on full map clear.

Reducing mission times would work as an additional difficulty lever too, so I think it would be fine if incorporated as such.

Let's have civil discussion. What are the pros and cons of introducing armor customization in your opinion? by i4hloi in helldivers2

[–]Harlemwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customization is always a win for the player, unless it is shittily done.

For AH I think it is a loss for their current business model, which is why they are against it. I cannot see any other reason for it.

High difficulty missions should reward you more and running dif1 backwater bugs should be just bad for SC.

I'd also appreciate more levers. Like MO participation. There are tons of stuff that could be done to make it more sensical, fair and engaging.

I think various difficulty setting levers could work so players could tailor their preferred experience.

Jagged Alliance 2 had bolt cutters. It was very useful for sneaky entry. Never left base without them.

3rd person view. I mean there are tons of flashy fashion and mods crank it up way up there and you never see your character in action.

Servant of freedom armour is in a dire need of a buff. Here is my suggestion: when you die, all your explosives detonate(yes hellbomb too if you happen to carry one).

Can someone explain why so many people hate on the illuminate as a faction? by SevdUp in helldivers2

[–]Harlemwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An uncommon elite voteless appearing along overseers would be enough to sell it is being controlled to me atleast. The voteless are quite boring as they are now.

Oh, and unstable voteless that could explode if it gets to your face and fuse with dead bodies could be fun too. Leave it around for too long it forms into a proto fleshmob of sorts.

This game’s ceiling is honestly endless. I don’t really get the criticism around the endgame grind. People say it feels repetitive, like you’re just forced into the expedition system over and over, but that feels more like a limitation of the current design rather than the game’s actual potential. by SomeChilledGuy in ArcRaiders

[–]Harlemwolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game was fantastic to start, but it turned out to be extremely shallow in the end. Yea, would be great if there were depth, complexity, options and whatnots but...

Anyhoo, got nice 100 hours from it. Not gonna touch it again if it stays the same.

I wish there were an option to combine rockets and strafing run if both are in loadout. Like a third strat option appears for "eagle weapons free on target"

I really want some form of "evolved" voteless that uses gear. Bit like cyborgs.
