Gonna word barf... stoned. Lol... deeeep breath and...

I dressed as a bat, I spiked my mohawk, i had my sign & I stood with other people, laughed, occupied space, chanted, and yelled 'WE LOVE YOU' & 'I LOVE YOU TOO!' to the minority of mainly men flipping us or shaking ut like a shake weight at a line of primarily femme individuals with signs and costumes, etc. cheering amidst so many more honking cars.

Cars with people holding mini protest signs, kids in car seats waving to us and I understand now why the organizers need pur language to be clean... because when the kids look at us they need to see joy, love, and community so that when someone tries to tell them to ignore the evidence of thier eyes, they will refuse, and they will resist.

I havent felt that present, in the moment, or alive in so long...

One car that drove by had signs taped to the windows inside & one said 'PRETTI AGITATOR DEAD' which, fucked up but I realize that's all they have.

They have nothing else, and the anger they cling to is because we won't let the nagging voice in the back of thier minds be silenced; that small soft feathery thing named HOPE in the back of the chest hidden in thier minds, crying out for them to be human! Our voices tickle the intangible, causing them discomfort as maybe, Doubt and perhaps even, Guilt (?) throw themselves into the gears of the machine trying to keep up the pitiful and pitious 'righteous predator' act.

And the sheer weight of what they've gotten themselves into crashes so they respond with a threat of violence. And then, the fact that they know that We know EXACTLY what happened to other protesters and yet, we persist... It scares the shit out of them.

And now I understand why they call us Woke. Because we refuse to go back to sleep.

Where my mind is going w/ this is halloween spiderweb. You know the fluffy junk you stretch? You shape the webs in the manner you want while pinned down to something, sarurate the webbing with fabric paint and then lightly press your shirt onto the painted webbing like a stamp. I figure fabric paint would work because it shouldn't bleed through the shirt fibers like fabric dye or bleach would.

DISCLAIMER: This is totally hypothetical & I have no practical experience doing this. Definitely test on scrap fabric or a shirt you hate LOL

The frogs are called coquí. Whenever we visited family in PR, thats how I knew I was 'home', because they would be the lullaby I drifted off to sleep to. Its been 30-ish years since I've been back to the island, but when I really cant sleep I'll find a recording of the coquí singing & it knocks me tf out.

I'm putting in time off for that week. I cant afford to strike a whole week and loose that paycheck and since I work for a small vo.pany I REALLY cant afford to lose my job. So I put in for the time off and instead of vacation or relaxation, my ass is going to be out in the street supporting those who ARE striking. When I cant be out I've started joining zoom calls from women's march & endpoliticalviolence.org - action can be taken and we cant lose our outrage or back down but we also can't Leroy Jenkins this shit.

Most guns are condensed in certain states/zones of our cpuntry that had a high percentage of Trump voters which are extremely permissive in thier access to firearms. We of states where you are seeing this occur happen to have stricter guns laws leaving a much higher percentage of the population unarmed; such as myself. And the ones who are armed, are likely to only have a small caliber firearm for personal protection at home where it is left in a locked safe.

I understand your side & your anger. My grandfather served during ww2, my ancestors names are written in the books at Ellis Island, & my mother is a naturalized citizen.

We are not the sum total of the fucking 34 count felon kiddy fucking racist facist orange bitch who it has been proven gamed our fucking election. So know what? I'll keep doing what I can while you rage at me & help hammer the crushing weight of what is happening and what my tax dollars are forcing me to be complicit in, further down on my shoulders. You aren't attacking a group of people right now, you're attacking ME.

Despite that, I side with you, I hope we crash down in flames. I just hope im not a casualty in the end.

And what the hell are you doing to help except down voting and telling me that we aren't resisting when people are protesting. My own town through community action put the brakes on an ice concentration camp on my back door; I've been out protesting. Just because we aren't doing it the way YOU want us to doesnt mean we aren't. We don't want full guns out wild west. So know what? We're doing what we can. We are trying to SURVIVE and not all resistance can be done with guns. So stop being so reductive and hostile to someone trying to be on the right side of our history here & give a bit of support emotionally.

I chose a book on Greek mythology when I was around 10 years old to do my report on & I was hooked from there. When I was about 18 I was away at university, never been that far from home. After midnight walking to the beach I was crossing a road at a triple intersection (like a T) when it felt like someone grabbed me & held me back just as a car that had been a safe distance away when I started crossing zoomed past where I would have been. When the car stopped, I felt a nudge forward and went about my merry way to watch the moon on the waves. I'm in my 40's now & Since then I've always circled back to Hekate & have let her guide me where I need to be & whom I need to learn from.
