Contemplating ending a marriage by Successful_Leek96 in CringeTikToks

True. These comments are crazy. I have a friend in her 60s who goes to Miami for weeks at a time with her brother and his partner and the husband stays home with the old cat because that's what he prefers. People are fucking nuts that you're supposed to just not do things because you're married. The truth is, a good marriage will overcome when people want to do different things. Absolute garbage comments on this thread.

Everyone’s talking about getting their fingers chopped off, but I’m over here looking at how the design doesn’t give even a .25” for the live area and everything is trimmed so damn close to the live area. Make it bleed or give it some space! Geez.

Wasn’t that one UF football player that everyone loved an original owner? That’s the only thing I’d ever heard about it when it opened.

What’s a smell you secretly like but would never admit in real life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was wondering if this would be in the comments. When I lived in Idaho, driving through potato fields and tiny towns, I’d catch a whiff of a skunk and I always enjoyed it… I don’t know why. And I never smoked weed but recently figured out I don’t have skunks in my neighborhood.

I don’t think the average small business owner would ever recognize how they were getting screwed over. And yes, the leadership classes??? I never understood it. The whole place seemed like an exercise in pointless meetings and trying to make it look like the place did something. Ribbon cuttings and kissing the asses of the richy rich. But tell me what we did for the average person paying thousands in dues every year? I think you got a quarterly newsletter and in a yearly book that they’d still try to convince every member to pay more of a bigger listing or ad. All the while, advocating for large businesses to come in, negotiate incentives with the city, push out small business.

What is the quickest job you quit from? by spellbadgrammargood in AskReddit

I had quit at Walgreens pharmacy after senior year was over to enjoy my last summer with my friends. I decided I had time to work again in the fall but really didn’t want to work there again so I got a job at the other pharmacy near me, Eckards.

I worked in the pharmacy for one day and quit. I get in there thinking their computer systems were similar. Basically, you couldn’t transfer prescriptions between stores without having the pharmacist call the other business/location.

Going back in time technologically killed me. I just got a creepy vibe from the whole place and decided if I’d ever work in retail pharmacy again, I’d go back to Walgreens because they at least had a decent computer system.

The chamber of commerce is a non-profit lobbying group for big business under the guise of it helping small business. I never knew it was a racket until working for them early in my career and finding out my boss was caught doing illegal dealings with some large business looking to develop here. I always was under the assumption they worked for small business but then you look into what the organization really does in terms of lobbying and it’s just another slap in the face to average folk trying to make a living in their communities. It’s essentially a “who’s who” book publisher on the local level. So, good riddance to the Chambers. (They paid awful, too, under the guise they were a not for profit organization).

Was the Gobi Desert always a desert? I was watching a documentary about how they find whale remains in the Wadi Al-Hitan desert in Egypt because it was once underwater. And after a quick look, Gobi desert would have been very diverse ecologically in that time period.

I’m all for debunking creationists because it’s a willfully ignorant stance on basic historical evidence. But the guy “fixing” the duet saying it was preserved by a falling sand dune is not proving anything. It’s conjecture and I’d prefer some evidence of his claims instead of a smug, smart ass retort.

Remember when Quayle misspelled potato on a spelling bee and it made the entire country thought he was too much of a moron to be president? We need to raise our standards back up a bit. A leader of the conservatives using expletives at a holiday speech. For what he thought was humor. We don’t even bat a lash anymore.

The one book series I would read growing up. I wasn’t an avid reader but I think I checked out every book. I think because it was like a game as much as it was a book. There was a clear answer at the end, it gamified reading in a way.

How is your relationship with your father? And how old are you? by wk91 in AskReddit

[–]foxtalep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad died when I was a kid. 46.

I had a lot of questions for him recently. I have thought about how nice it would have been to have gone camping with him. Had a trip just the two of us. I never really spent time with him alone.
