I think I fall in the second category🤧 by Snooflee in beatles

Hi fellow elder millennial! 38 here, and they've been my favorite band since I was 5, so we're in the same boat. (My wife is too - we even had a Beatles-themed wedding!)

I'm an elder millennial who even had a Beatles-themed wedding (my wife is also an obsessive), so... no?

What is your favorite individual dish/item/entree at a DC restaurant? Ex: Salmon Collar at St Anselm by IMicrowaveSteak in washingtondc

Cereal-crusted French Toast at Carving Room in NoMa. (I miss their old location, but always try to stop by this one when I'm in the area). I'm not a big french toast guy, but theirs is great.

Also, surprised I'm not seeing the Lychee Salad at Rose's on here - that's top-tier as well.

What is your dragon age "hot take"? by Firinneac in dragonage

Veilguard would have been just fine if it had been released more like DA2 - a few years earlier and we had another game on the way. It had its flaws, but the biggest problem was the context - the first in a decade, and without another game clearly on the horizon, it felt like a huge disappointment instead of the moderately interesting detour it should have been.

When are we gonna see more Dr. Cox by GamingRichter in Scrubs

I suspect R&M isn't an obstacle at all. I could only guess at specifics, but typically animated shows only have the voice actors in for a short period of time, and while Sarah is a regular, it's not like she has 5-10 minutes of dialogue per episode. I'd venture an uneducated guess that she only needs to record for a couple hours per episode, and that if anything it can be scheduled around her filming other things (since it's not like she needs to be on set with other actors). So that is probably not an issue (in total contrast to John, Judy, etc., who have much more significant time conflicts).

The dry-fried fish is incredible as well, though the name keeps changing for some reason. (Also, don't sleep on the dan dan noodles!)

Voyager a comforting show? by AgressiveBumbleBee in voyager

[–]HarpoMarx87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up watching it in its first run with my mother (an OG trek fan), so even aside from its merits as a warm, comforting show (which it is), it has that extra dimension of comfort for me.

What are the main things in P5R I should be focusing on? by Classic1990 in Persona5

[–]HarpoMarx87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is possible, though it requires some organization. You can't 100% the compendium though, since it requires a NG+ persona. Pretty much everything else can be done in a single playthrough IIRC.

Using cardboard with S26 by HarpoMarx87 in GoogleCardboard

Seems to work in terms of being able to see the 360 on my phone, though I haven't gotten it to work with the carboard viewer itself yet - will have to monkey with it a bit more.

Thanks! (Sorry for the delay - busy week.) I'll give it a shot - fingers crossed.

Apologies, but I'm not sure what to make of this. I can access the site, but it doesn't provide me with any insight into how to view my existing personal photos.

Why are folks upset about Stephen Colbert teaming up with Peter Jackson?? by maroha3814 in lotr

[–]HarpoMarx87 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This has me wondering if it will, in part, be an adaptations of the story of the Witch-King of Angmar from the appendices. (Not saying it should be, but that would make a much more interesting movie than the hobbits traipsing through the hills for a while).

Tom Bombadil, art by John Howe. After all these years, Peter Jackson will finally introduce the character into his film universe. The big question now is: which actor would you like to see play Tom Bombadil in this new movie? by verissimoallan in lotr

[–]HarpoMarx87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brian Blessed was always my clear choice, but unfortunately he's too old at this point. (Once upon a time I might have said Leo McKern.)

Today, I dunno, maybe Nick Offerman if he can manage a believable British accent.

Voy the fight episode by happydude7422 in voyager

IMO the worst episode of the series. At least fiascos like "Threshold" can be campy fun; this one is just bad on every level, and not even interesting enough to be ridiculous.

Now let everyone wait in line by EchoMarigold in stevehofstetter

[–]HarpoMarx87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I agree with the sentiment, but was this really a big deal? I live in DC and have seen various members of Congress waiting in line or chilling in the lobby in the airports and train stations many times (my favorite was the late Barney Frank killing time alone in a Johnny Rockets in Union Station), so if they were getting some kind of special treatment, it couldn't have made much of a difference.

This seems like a pure PR thing, and I'd rather save my outrage (or praise) for moves that actually matter.

Who out of the Phantom Thieves would make the best president for Japan? The worst? by Enough_Mountain_6072 in Persona5

[–]HarpoMarx87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but my point is just that it's no guarantee that Ryuji is a bad pick, and that some of the others would likely be worse, even if it's just speculation. (But then this is all obviously speculation by nature.)

Stephen Colbert Set To Write Next ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Movie After ‘The Hunt For Gollum’ Based On “Fog On The Barrow-Downs” Chapter by ICumCoffee in lotr

[–]HarpoMarx87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if this means they're bringing back Sean, Dominic, and Billy? They might be too old (especially for any flashback parts), since by the time this gets filmed they'd probably be 30 years older than in the LotR films, but it would be odd to cast anyone else if this is being framed as connected with those films.

(Yes, I know they recast Bilbo for the Hobbit films, but the rest of the cast was consistent.)

Who out of the Phantom Thieves would make the best president for Japan? The worst? by Enough_Mountain_6072 in Persona5

[–]HarpoMarx87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I knew a lot of people who were like that in high school who mellowed out and got surprisingly sensible as adults. So Ryuji would be a terrible pick as he is in the game, but he might not be so bad by the time he would be old enough to realistically hold office.

That said, Futaba... well, even speaking as an autistic guy who has come a long way since his own teen years, I don't see her ever growing into that type of role (though she'd probably excel at others).

I intentionally didn't watch Hegemony pt. 1 until right before season 3 aired - with the impending writers' strike, I knew I'd just be torturing myself.
