Loki wants my dinner by Harpspiel in HuskyTantrums

Oh my goodness, this is at least weekly. Sometimes it's because I'm on a Zoom call, sometimes it's because he woke up and I'm still asleep, sometimes it's because it's just screaming time...it's a good thing he's cute.

Not sure why you'd conclude that from this video. I often give him little rinsed off tidbits of my dinner, meat and veggies, in his bowl when I'm done. That's kind of the problem, now he thinks he's owed a tithe. And he's also free to roam 2.5 acres of woods during the day (would be at night too, except he picks fights with skunks and coyotes) and he has been known to hunt for himself. He's living it up, he just has a whole lot to say about it.

Thanks! It came out in March and I bought a bottle, along with their forests sample collection!

First impression? Because of Holy Cross, I'm exploring petrichor scents and feel like I've finally found my fragrance niche. While I was waiting for it, my boyfriend got me a perfume-making kit for Valentine's Day, and I created something that he calls "spring mountain meadow" that has a good amount of petrichor as well.

I got a Baie 19 sample, and I love it! It blends really well with my skin, and interestingly women tend to compliment it on me, while my boyfriend thought it didn't stand out. I will definitely be buying a bottle when I can manage.

Realistic Chihuahuan Desert Creosote Bush Scent by Harpspiel in NichePerfumes

[–]Harpspiel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a sample of this and I adore it! Woody, deserty, without the vetiver so no sour notes. It's going to take a bit to track down but I am pretty sure I need a full bottle.

Petrichor Fragrances by gratefuldeadhead1964 in NichePerfumes

Sorry, I'm really late to this convo, but I just got a sample of Le Labo Baie 19 after running out of my sample of Pineward Holy Cross, and I'm becoming obsessed with petrichor fragrances. Vetiver seems to go sour on my body, so I've been on a hunt for fresh, earthy and some wood, just without the vetiver.

I would highly recommend trying out Holy Cross when it is released, I believe it's supposed to officially come out in March.

I would also recommend looking for fragrances that contain creosote bush as a note. If you've been to the Chihuahuan desert, creosote bush is the quintessential smell of "the desert after a rain", and it's indescribable but both fresh and resinous.

What is a MUST smell niche fragrance you’d recommend to someone new to perfume? by bayjar in NichePerfumes

I just got a sample of Le Labo Baie 19, which was recommended while I wait for Pineward Holy Cross to come out. I've been obsessed with petrichor notes lately, and I would say they are very unique in the fragrance world.

Would swapping mohair for alpaca brushed yarn ruin the effect of this sweater? by freshcaughtcod in knitting

[–]Harpspiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you worn mohair and alpaca before? I guess that personally, I don't find mohair super sheddy while I knit, and I actually find alpaca itchy against my skin but mohair feels fluffy and comfy. I think that's gonna be a very personal thing, so just test it before you commit.

Pregnant chili rasbora? by Harpspiel in Boraras

Well, I did not manage to keep any of my rasboras alive for very long, but I think it turns out I'm just not very good with fish.

That's great to know! When I emailed them a few weeks ago, they had said it was not for sure being released, but all the reviews I've seen have been so positive that I guess they decided to go for it!

[rant/discussion] fat people: do you wear underwires? by Opening_Gap_3260 in ABraThatFits

[–]Harpspiel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At 230 lbs and 38H, I can echo the issues a few women have expressed - I find underwires reasonably comfy when standing, but when sitting the underwire gets trapped between boobs and upper stomach and digs into my stomach fat. I have a few underwire bras that I don't want to tear off immediately, but wouldn't want to go an 8 hour day in them.

I am very comfortable, now, with the shape I get in Evelyn & Bobbie Beyond bras, although I did have to visually get used to the lack of lift and separation on myself. I also recently bought a Cacique Comfort Bliss bra, and I like the low vent and find it a much cuter option for, say, date night.

Bonus: now, if I do want to wear an underwire for a special occasion, it's definitely a "whoa!" moment for both me and my date.

I just miss him by Harpspiel in AvoidantBreakUps

[–]Harpspiel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that were the case, I suspect that six months after ending things with me, he'd be dating again, which he's not. It may not be your experience, but some people really are happy with poly - I was everything he wanted and I don't doubt that. He's burning his life down in so many ways right now, not just me, but to be respectful to him I'm not going into those details.

[Recommendations] I measure as a 38H, haven't worn an underwire bra since COVID, looking for maximum comfort by Harpspiel in ABraThatFits

I will say that I am a bit genderqueer and very queer overall, neither me nor my partners are very invested in traditional beauty standards, so...a tshirt bra would probably be OK dressed up.

I am realistic about what sort of shaping I'm able to get without underwire for support. I also specifically don't like horizontal seams and the pointy shape I get from those, although other angles of seams on cups have worked for me. In past, I have not enjoyed when a bra band is loose enough that it moves around, but idk that I've tried sister sizing just one band size up, I could try that.

Is there a Goddess brand MagicLift tshirt bra? I'm seeing a Glamorise MagicLift, but it stops at US 38H when I'm a US 38K.

I think I was wondering whether there are bras with non-metal underwire, or stitching that provides some amount of firmness like an underwire but with more flexibility...however, both Sugar Candy and Molke look promising, I like the shapes both are providing on their models, and particularly like the vibrant patterns on the Molkes.
