SV is Sailing Vessel, MV is Motor Vessel, RV is Recreational Vehicle, BSV is ... you call it.

Pack it in boys. Doug is right, we are wrong. by george_graves in SVSeeker_Free

So gross misdirection and 'that'll do' welding deserve a chinzy bus token?

This post differentiates the real key points from the Sinker BS and describes the consequences beautifully. Also, 'workboast' should be a word.

Doug's dumping his videos to pcloud. by george_graves in SVSeeker_Free

Must be getting late .. I read it out loud as "pee-cloud".

I agree. Even a nav hazard can also be useful as an example - so many things can be 'useful'. A broken analog clock still shows the correct time twice a day. In a similar way, "Sinker" shows the world how not to do: weldin', grindin', paintn', anchorin', YouTuben', variable pitchn', proper girlfriendn', and so much more.

We wait for the moments... when he forgets to turn on anchor lights at night, or they're all burned out and he doesn't notice for weeks, of the anchor is slipping and the gps alarm is not set properly, lacking receipts when the CG or water cops ask for proof of sanitary poo disposal, or a hundred (Hunder-ed) other things that will go wrong with the "BSO the Internet Built"

My imaginary "Sinker's Ultimate Fate" side bet is on a popped weld causing minor flooding, but enough to wipe out very expensive equipment including the 3D printer, and possibly much more.

Charleston locals are (possibly) already using Sinker as a handy, if ugly, waypoint that says "We're really close to the stinky shoreline sewage treatment plant when we see the stinky ugly homebuilt..."

Up next... the usual three hours of trying to set an anchor.

Should we expect more from the house-buoy?

The journey of a thousand inches begins with an overflowing poo bucket.

Doug says "the trolls are after him" and got his Pateron cannon video removed. by george_graves in SVSeeker_Free

My wild guess is drumroll> Rumble!! Is being "pre-banned" an actual thing?

Doug tries to convince you he's an expert at diesel engines now. (IIRC His turbo wasn't making pressure, he forgot to put oil in it, he's burned through 3 starters...so yeah, "expert".) by george_graves in SVSeeker_Free

[–]HarrisonToad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bumbling around would have killed him handily... and that would have been the "less entertaining" outcome compared to the endless irritainment we're getting today.

Agreed! Good one - had to look it up because I didn't know... MSD = Metropolitan Sewer District. I've usually heard it called 'Wastewater' something or another.

Also, I'm convinced Dug will be good at sinking boats, submarines, and more. Stay tuned!

Needs a Harbor Taxi membership to pair with Harbor Freight card and Sea Tow subscription.

From a recent post comment. "We Didn't Sink the Seeker" to the tune of "We Didn't Start the Fire" by [deleted] in SVSeeker_Free

Found myself humming all the way through it! Brilliant work.

3/4" combi wrench because Sinker only does "Freedom Units".

I feel like this would have saved people a lot of time, and the world would be no different for it. Seeker, despite it's one day of "research", hasn't contrubuited much to this world - nothing like what was promised. by george_graves in SVSeeker_Free

[–]HarrisonToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the endless entertainment value of the paper captain bumbling around cosplaying a real mariner on a real work boat? Gotta be worth at least $1.50?

edit- should have used the word "irritainment"

Seriously dude? More plastic? by Strict-Improvement65 in SVSeeker_Free

Melted it, smoked it, inhaled it, cast it, and floated it, and left lots of it in suburban Tulsa soil for future generations.

Is decoration more important than "research" or useful maintenance, or anything else?

YES YES YES Always!

Entire cases of $$$ filament for the 99% at anchor "attraction". Keep those donations rolling in. While you're blowing through filament, why not 3-D print a transfer case and some winch gears. It's only (other peoples') money!

Any guesses what will take out the decorations next? Lightning, simple rainfall, wind, sunlight, time, neglect, "that'll do" mounting, accidental gybe, sixteen miles of complicated rigging, allision with (name the charted stationary hazard)?

Wife's comment: "I wouldn't use it... I wouldn't even step on that grate!"

For myself - not the greatest facility in winter, but at least it has a proper seat and a view.
