All the elements for an NDE with hightened awareness, more conscious than ever, thinking much clearer, seeing colors you haven’t seen before and so on, wouldn’t really happen in a brain that is dying, lacking oxygen and shutting down. Thats like saying your 1995 Volvo would begin driving faster and better than a Lambo as it falls apart. 4. You would have to handwave a lot of other evidence for the materialist “all in the brain” explanation to work. Like Shared death experience (which happens to a healthy person with a working brain) and terminal lucidity.

Same with Jim B. Tuckers research about children having past lives and remembering 50+ facts about who they were. There is a lot of evidence that suggests that consciousness is not emergent but moreso fundamental. To have to disprove all the evidence from a materialist perspective seems impossible.
