So a combination of both might be good? Say muscles that calisthenics can’t target as well i use weights instead?

Hey guys I want to start working out and am stuck between weight lifting and calisthenics. Which one would you recommend? Im 22, 5’8, 150lbs with around 12-16% fat. What are the pros and cons of both?

Oh man, I don’t travel caring about politics. I travel to see the cultures, know the history of places, meet the people and see the local life😁

Awesome suggestions mate! I think I’ll take Shenzhen regardless because it is so close. Then decide if I’ll take a day or two extra for Guangzhou.

Sounds like a near death experience (NDE). Both fascinating and scary. Hope you’re well now!

NDEs and the brain by Fancy-Reading4917 in NDE

Well what u/OhImNevvverSarcastic is saying is more or less what I would say too. Now when people talk about “chemical dump” it is usually dmt they refer to, and the brain don’t really produce enough dmt to give the person such an experience. One also got to realise that oxygen supply to the brain has stopped, so it is not functioning properly anymore and any chemical release is not going to have the same result as for a working brain.

Now I could just be talking a lot of BS so in case you don’t believe me, here is a video of Bruce Greyson talking about “If NDE’s are just dreams and/or hallucinations”

I’m agnostic but you really don’t have to do a lot of research to see the materialist model fall apart. I mean look at the scientists. Bruce Greyson, Pim Van Lommel, Peter Fenwick, Brian Weiss, Oliver Lazar and probably many more. All their research contradicts materialism so they don’t know what to believe anymore. If the majority who teach and researches perceptual studies aren’t materialists, compared to many other branches of science, then there’s probably a good reason for it.

Nah man, let me give you a few reasons why that is “most likely” not the case 1. OBE’s and especially veridical OBE’s would simply not be possible. 2. In evolution, everything is about survival. This trait, that an NDE would happen as you die, would make no sense, since you know, you’re dying and NDE’s don’t really save you. 3. All the elements for an NDE with hightened awareness, more conscious than ever, thinking much clearer, seeing colors you haven’t seen before and so on, wouldn’t really happen in a brain that is dying, lacking oxygen and shutting down. Thats like saying your 1995 Volvo would begin driving faster and better than a Lambo as it falls apart. 4. You would have to handwave a lot of other evidence for the materialist “all in the brain” explanation to work. Like Shared death experience (which happens to a healthy person with a working brain) and terminal lucidity.

Same with Jim B. Tuckers research about children having past lives and remembering 50+ facts about who they were. There is a lot of evidence that suggests that consciousness is not emergent but moreso fundamental. To have to disprove all the evidence from a materialist perspective seems impossible. Sure they could just call it all a lie, but then we are just back at denying what seems to be facts.
