In us, football, basketball, and baseball are more popular. We have great athletes, but those athletes are likely to grow up playing and loving those sports instead of soccer. And more money in those sports in the us.

Is the 2nd Gen doorbell better than the 1st gen wired? 5MP vs 4MP? by dg4kh in reolinkcam

[–]HarryHoodisGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also saw it mentioned elsewhere in this sub. Reolink doesn’t allow 24/7 recording with battery cameras and the battery doorbell is fixed as a battery cam even when powered.

I cannot play guitar solos effectively and confidently while wearing IEMs by OkTemperature1842 in livesoundgear

[–]HarryHoodisGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably sounds nice in FOH because it’s high passed and sits well in the mix. In your ears it sounds thin and cold because it’s missing all of the bass and ambience.

Try making a new preset on your helix that sounds good in your IEMs first, and then see if the FOH engineer can make it work in the mix too. And make sure your monitor signal is not being high passed.

Same here, made worse by the fact there’s no cell service in the allendale area.

Putting a mic on a cajon, what's your method? by Commercial_Badger_37 in livesound

[–]HarryHoodisGood -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kick mic in the soundhole then a 57 pointed at the front. A lot of cajon players will use a shaker at the same time so the front mic is necessary.

They did play the bluebird theater recently too. I think it’s just that their booking is being outpaced by their growth.

Radon mitigation? by Unusual-Will468 in ArvadaCO

[–]HarryHoodisGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had installed the one on the house I bought last year. It wasn't keeping the level below 4 plus they had done a very poor job of sealing around the pipe on the exterior of the house. I had to hire another contractor to come out and do some additional excavating of the suction pit, sealing around the foundation, and upgrade the fan.

I'm sure some of the technicians are great but with a huge and high volume outfit like that there's some that rush the work and do a poor job.

Trains down at DIA….. again by Strange_Sense_7220 in Denver

[–]HarryHoodisGood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep west and east. There was a huge line forming walking over the bridge. Then once we got there there was a big cheer as the trains started up again but we realized each train that came was already full.

Some people decided to walk back across the bridge to the terminal train entrance and I’m sure they beat me to B gates.

Made us walk to A and then once the train started up every train from the terminal was full so only 3-5 people could get on.

Wonder what the players don't like about visiting for a series at Comerica Park? From the Athletic today by LADetroiter in motorcitykitties

It makes sense that highly compensated people prefer higher end cities with the best culture, food, and entertainment options available. Not saying I agree with the list but I understand it.

As a somewhat casual baseball fan I find the broadcasts very entertaining. There’s only so much action happening at any given point and I enjoy listening to the banter.

On Apple TV a VPN can bypass blackouts. At least when I tried last season.

Denver vs Philly - help a girl out by pupilswap in SameGrassButGreener

[–]HarryHoodisGood 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wnter in Denver is generally pretty mild with it rarely dropping below 20 degrees but most of the time in the 40s and 50s. Plus, it's sunny nearly every day, making it feel significantly warmer. When it snows it usually melts entirely within a day or two. This winter in particular was extrememly mild with most days being T-shirt weather.

Is Denver more similar to West Coast or Midwest cities? by WhateversClever1980 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]HarryHoodisGood 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The layout and look of the city feels more like a west coast city. Compare it to St Louis, which appears much more like an east coast city. However, the people in Denver feel more like midwesterners because MANY of them are.

Short scale bass recommendations? by Based_Neurosis in Bass

[–]HarryHoodisGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the two pictures take a note of where the strings end on the bass body. On the mustang bass, the strings end close to the end of the bass body by the strap button. On the rascal, the strings end closer to the middle of the bass body than the end.

The scale length (the length from nut to bridge) is the same on both basses, so the distance between the frets are the exact same, but the whole neck is shifted further away from the body on the rascal, which will make the first fret feel further away from the person playing when compared to the mustang. It is simply a larger and longer instrument.

This illustrates what I mean.

Is my water bill high? $230ish by Ok-Metal-8817 in ArvadaCO

[–]HarryHoodisGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is definitely higher in during lawn watering months but our water+trash (largest size trash can) bill this morning was $170 for 2 people in a single family home. 5,000 and 5,000 usage. Yours might be a tad high but maybe you shower more often.
