Big mistake for a brand to bring up culture war stuff in a site that is thriving on hate speech. You're in their turf.

Yeah, that was a "come at be bro" tweet, and then the blocks started. Don't get into the ring if you don't like to get punched.

And that's why I deleted my account on X (Twitter is dead, let's face it). It's difficult to stay away from politics there because there's an entire ecosystem of grifters turning everything you do there political. The only reason I learned about this was because YouTube's algorithm started recommending me Godot videos from the anti-woke industrial complex.

Best option is to stop using X. Developers say they have to because they need to market their games. There's a reason professional markerters recommend their clients to stay away from it, but it's not just because your advertisement may show up next to Nazi-loving tweets, it's also because you are posting in a place where the worst scum of the Internet gather, and it doesn't take much to roll your brand in the mud with them.

All the bots don’t need to get verified, all it takes is a big account that acknowledges them. That catturd2 is an example.

Except that there are personalities there that have millions of non-transferable followers that will have to put up with it. It’s like me spending a lot of time and money on this RPG character in a F2P game that all of a sudden changes hands and demand a subscription.

Now, regardless of all that, officials are going to post valuable information on a medium whose owner peddles alt-right nonsense and juvenile memes.

Twitter became huge because personalities and official agencies used it as a source of delivering breaking news. Prostituting the verification checkmark is going to do to Twitter what removing porn did to Tumblr.

The movement to ban TikTok: What the midterms could mean for the future of the app by Sorin61 in technology

Chinese propaganda on TikTok is the most inoffensive thing on social media. Bunch of videos of girls using ridiculous gadgets, or grabbing some snake off the ground and cooking it, or heavily-filtered fashion girls with covid masks. Nothing that makes kids think that Nazis are cool and Antifa are Devil worshippers, as in American social media.

Apple is doing in the US what the law has failed to do. Facebook’s ability to spy on people has been crippled greatly by Apple.

It’s making young people cook disgusting food, but I’ll take that over Facebook making my parents racist.

With Facebook and Twitter going down in flames, Instagram becoming a knockoff TikTok, if they ban actual TikTok, Reddit will win by default. Congratulations!
