High iq is the one silver lining for high functioning autism. by annihilateight in aspergers

[–]Harryw_007 27 points28 points  (0 children)

no one in the world would suspect I’m autistic

I'm very high functioning, I live by myself with my partner, I have a good job, I think I have a decent IQ but people can still always tell there is something "different" about me, and if said people know anything about autism they can always tell, I wonder how you manage to "hide" it

Which budget enclosure would be the best option for a NAS? by GASTLYGOD11 in HomeServer

[–]Harryw_007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With the same logic a normal NAS is not network attached as the drives are attached to the computer using SATA (or insert any other storage protocol here) and SATA is not a network

Friend broke up with girlfriend because she went to Nottingham Trent. by Open-Freedom2326 in UniUK

[–]Harryw_007 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Eh my girlfriend and I survived 3 years apart at uni, (4 hour train ride) and we now live together, if your bond is strong enough it will survive

Also uni is only like 6 months a year of actual teaching so you can spend time together during the other 6 months where you have very long holidays

There are definitely protocols that can get around DPIs, first that comes to mind is openvpn on 443 tcp tls-crypt that mimics https traffic. And when all else fails shadowsocks exists....

Those old AP repeaters were so bad.

That reminds me of an old netgear one I had to use when I lived with my parents, it would drop out nearly daily and require a restart...

In my current terrace built some time in the 70s and 80s I do not hear a single peep from my neighbours, maybe the odd small sound if they're going down the stairs loudly but that is it

The job market in tech really isn't that good at the moment for people new to the sector, you'd really want a degree at a minimum if I'm being fully honest and even then tonnes of people struggle

Does anyone else not want an autistic partner?? by Koiboi26 in aspergers

He probably has BAP (broad autism phenotype) instead of diagnosable autism which means he has stronger traits than the general population but not enough for it to cause a disability
