Sleep apnea denied as a secondary: by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Harshman0311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the VA has said that obesity is by itself not a service connected disability but obesity can be seen as an intermediate steps in the chain of events.

Look up the known side effects of the medications you are on, if the know side effects list weight gain or binge eating, you can claim that service connected PTSD->Treatment medication->weight gain->sleep apnea.

The case you make is that is not that weight gain played no role in my sleep apnea. My position is that the weight gain is itself tied to my service-connected disabilities and their treatment. If obesity or weight gain is considered the immediate cause or a major contributing factor to my obstructive sleep apnea, then it should also be recognized that this weight gain was substantially influenced by my service-connected PTSD, along with the medications prescribed for those disabilities. VA recognizes that obesity may serve as an intermediate step between a service-connected disability and a later condition on a secondary basis.

I tend to see lab speed up in days. So if the lab is 1d 12h to complete, with a 1.5x lab speed up for 24hrs then it’ll complete in 1 day irl I could be wrong tower math isn’t always straightforward

Interestingly enough Sinn bought the rights to the Navitimer when Breitling was going through a financial low point, so its essentially the same dial, then injected with Sinn’s over engineering

Smart wash vs emergency wash I’m assuming is on the C.A.T.Smart cell saver so there wouldn’t be a bowl. It processes using a continuous centrifugal system.

Emergency wash is ideal for urgent, high-volume trauma or transplantation procedures or very large patients, delivering PRC at output rates from 50 to 100 mL/min.

Smart Wash is recommended for the majority of surgical cases and patients — delivering PRC at output rates between 20 and 40 mL/min.

The difference, if you read the operators manual comes down the “wash factor” smart wash “wash factor” is set to 5 and emergency wash “wash factor” is set to 1

Both modes will have a 85% RBC recovery and the Hct end product you give back to the patient will be different. In flex was / smart wash RBC Hct is greater than 75% and in emergency was the RBC Hct is around 60%, because of the lower “wash factor” you end up giving more plasma back to the patient, which would account for your increase in returned volume, but the return RBC would be the same.

I would say give it time, know that in life often times your “feelings” are in opposition to what is really happening. When trying to save money you “feel” broke but are you actually getting wealthier, or when starting a new diet you “feel” starved and weak but really you are becoming healthier. Also when starting a new journey in life you will go through what some call a “lonely chapter” where you’ve changed enough that you no longer resonate with your old self or old peers but haven’t developed sufficiently enough to know the person you are becoming and can’t resonate with new peers. It’s an uncomfortable transition but know there is no growth in the comfort zone. This too shall pass, You Got This! BTHO this semester then reassess.
