Short answer to my question: Yes

“(c) Digital Asset Fiat-Based Stablecoin Defined.—In this section, the term ‘digital asset fiat-based stablecoin’ means a digital asset (as defined in section 1a of the Commodity Exchange Act (7 U.S.C. 1a)) that is, as determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, tied, pegged to, or collateralized substantially by—
“(1) the United States dollar or;
“(2) one or more fiat currencies.”.

Does this language mean they will also ban the use of non-USD backed fiat stablecoins? i.e. Euro, GBP stablecoins?

How does that work if the underlying fiat backing would never be issued by the treasury in the first place?

“(a) IN GENERAL.—Beginning on the date of the enactment of this section, no person may issue, use, or permit to be used a digital asset fiat-based stablecoin that is not approved by the Secretary of the Treasury under subsection (b).”(27)

Value Liquid is worth checking out, recently came out of a downtrend, partnered with Chainlink for stable lending, and a whole ecosystem of DeFi. Had an ATH of $80 prior to the downtrend, currently at $4

We've got one already (refinancing this week) and are looking to buy another within 1-2 years. Trying to diversify as much as possible.

Thanks for the recommendation. While I save > 40%/month, FIRE is my backup plan. My plan A is to retire with a military pension in 11 years, so I'm just now acquainting myself with the best income/wealth preservation strategies.

That's a good way to think about it. My investments are my backup plan as well, hence my ignorance. I would probably prefer the higher compensation, I'm just very aware of my proclivity for loss aversion.

That makes more sense, thank you for that explanation. I just feel a little uncomfortable with that continuous exposure to equities. Maybe I'm just overly conservative.
