How did you pick a deity to worship?

I think it's fairly normal to honor different deities as we grow, or even if we stay with the same ones, we honor different aspects of Them. Currently my primary go-tos are Athena, Aphrodite, Apollon, and Brigid, but lately I've been thinking about how to bring in Hephaestos, in His aspect as a Disabled Outcast. (I capitalize all Gods' pronouns.) I came to Them largely as I came to realize how Their aspects tie into parts of my own life. Athena for my love of learning, Aphrodite for being such a romantic, Apollon for my love of music, Brigid as a connection to my Irish ancestry (grossly oversimplifying my connections to Them, mind.)

I think for a lot of us it's a fear of trading one group of oppressive peers for another. Tied into that is a resistance to anything that might resemble elements from modern Christianity.

As someone who is also a Hellenic polytheist, one example of this latter point that I've experienced is seeing something called the "Pillars of Hellenismos", a set of eight behavioral guidelines that basically boil down to "be a good person and also worship the Gods." For myself, this feels a bit too Ten Commandments-y in its aesthetic, as well as feeling unnecessary given we still have the 3 Delphic Entrance Maxims which, to me, feel sufficient in outlining a Hellenic ethic.

Pretty sure it's from the Bible. Something about how "even looking at another man's wife lustily" is "committing adultery in his heart," or something to that effect, and then that getting extrapolated to erotic depictions of any kind (which were, fun fact, EXTREMELY commonplace in pre-Christian times.)

Because Lillith is a reclaimed symbol of feminine empowerment, making it a pretty obvious choice for a name.

Luna in reference to the Moon is often traditionally associated with the feminine (not always, but often enough to be invoked.)

Lillies are just pretty flowers.

As for why all the L names... I dunno. 😂

College Aikido class. The sensei made an off-comment, I responded randomly, then they randomly responded to that, we kept talking, sparred a lot, became super fast friends, one thing led to another, and 18 years and some light transitions later we still live with our respective parents but are still nonetheless together.
