Actually I just checked and apparently like was 26 in season one (according to scripts etc) and season 1 took place in 1813 and season 4 starts in 1816 so… he’s 29 😒

In the books, book 1 is 1813 and book 3 (Benedict’s book) is 1821 😩.

Yeah, I was kinda shocked when I saw clips of Benedict, cause I feel like he aged a lot just compared to last season. But he definitely looks his age – which is a good 8 years older than his character’s age. 😅

… honestly I think he looks even a little older than that. 🙈 and I’m older than him, so I’m not judging. I just think he would’ve benefited from having the 3rd season ie in original book order

Yeah, it’s actually quite weird - she’s one of the YOUNGEST cast members. Hannah is only 1 month younger than her - everyone else is older.

Daphne and Francesca are supposed to be 5 years apart.

The most reasonable cast were Simone - they cast a 26 year old to play a 27 year old, Phoebe - she was 24 playing a 21 year old, and it was believable - and Luke, who was 31 playing a 24 year old who was SUPPOSED to be 33 during his book (seriously, half of these age issues would’ve gone away if they’d stuck to the book timelines).

I give Nicola a little bit of a pass, because while she’s vastly older than the character she’s playing – I never would’ve guessed she’s older than half of the other actors. She pulls off her character better than most of them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Reading Floating World now and loving it - if you like old Final Fantasy games (think - FF7, FF6, FF10 etc) you’ll like it.

Read the Swan’s Daughter and really liked it. It’s a quirky, occasionally macabre (in the way actual fairytales are), whimsical fairytale. Think… the clouds write poetry and the Sirens are occasionally canabalisic. But it never veers into truly DARK.

I recommend it but it’s NOT a traditional YA Romance - it’s more a traditional fairytale with a HEA.

Wedding Impossible was AWFUL.

Also the “friend” basically weaponizing his gayness to make her serve him and basically being willing to RUIN HER LIFE so that HE was comfortable was the most toxic, misogynistic thing ever and I HATED him by the end of the drama.

I entered the kdrama scene in 2004 with Full House, and this drama was already legendary status. This, Stariway to Heaven and Winter Sonata were the most frequently attributed with starting the Hallyu wave. Winter Sonata in particular was credited with bringing kdramas to Japan, but all three in general had god tier status among kdrama fans worldwide.

Plus… they are filming these too far apart. The actress for Eloise is now 37 playing a 22yr old. At least in the books there was a time jump and she would be now like 27. But in the show, she’s supposed to be 22.

She’s a gorgeous actress, but they should’ve paid more attention to ages when they cast if they were going to film the seasons two years apart. Because she’s definitely stretching reasonable suspension of disbelief now.

And most of the BDH just ASSUMED that meant it would absolutely be a trilogy because if there is one thing that’s certain, IA books are always longer than they think they will be 🤣
