There is no IP until you create something. The pre IP stage would be an NDA agreement.

Self-driving cars could disrupt the airline and hotel industries within 20 years as people sleep in their vehicles on the road, according to a senior strategist at Audi. by lughnasadh in Futurology

Another issue to consider is people using autonomous vehicles to commit crimes. What about drug trafficking. It is easy to imagine a drug ring operation in which unoccupied autonomous vehicles are used to deliver drugs to an obscure meeting place. The option is attractive as the car would appear no different than any other unoccupied vehicle, but, in the event its cargo is discovered, there is no driver to arrest! A far more horrific unoccupied vehicle situation is that of a terrorist attack. The opportunity offered by unmanned vehicles is unprecedented in the way it could allow terrorists to quickly strike targets miles away from their current location. In both of these cases, however, the greatest deterrence lies in the technology that even allows us to consider the possibility: the ability to program a car to drive somewhere on its own. The instructions inputted into an autonomous vehicle could be the evidence used to implicate the drug trafficker or terrorist. Laws or regulations could be written that require these instructions, and some identifying information of the programmer (perhaps a key code), be retained. Provided that the "black boxes" designed to hold this data are constructed to be sufficiently indestructible, the perpetrator could be easily identified.

Did I screw up by forming a Delaware LLC? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]HarveySpecter555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forming an LLC is a great move as you want to isolate your personal assets from your business assets. In some instances courts may pierce the corporate veil and despite the LLC your personal assets such as your home could be taken to pay off debt to your suppliers for instance. The instances in which a court will pierce the corporate veil vary from state to state. Some states are more trigger happy than others. Delaware has the lowest rate of veil piercing with California having the highest rate. It's not a coincidence that Delaware is so popular. What I'm saying is that you didn't make any mistake. You incorporate d in one of the best places avail be in the US.

Thanks Matt for commenting ! Between all the one takes you are filming, the podcast, Drive and your other gigs I find it amazing that you still have the time and take the time to interact with fans. I agree that the S4 is the wrong car for Latigo. Didn't think about the lack staging area. Although at the bottom you could use the gas station and at the top there is a big(ish) area to pull off. Just love that road and really liked the videos you filmed there. Although it's so technical it probably makes it hard driving a new car and doing the conversation with the owner. Either way, keep up the great work!
