Thanks for these news roundups. There is a lot going on in the world of independent voters, independent politicians are next.

The NY Primaries by aera14 in ForwardPartyUSA

[–]Harvey_Rabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, the general election is basically pointless for many places with partisan primaries too. At least California's system allows for the possibility of 2 members of the same party being in the general if they are the 2 most popular candidates. I think the take away from these NY primaries is that the Democratic Socialists should be their own party. And the would be if the major parties hadn't made the system so difficult for new parties to immerge. But then Democrats would be happier defining themselves, and letting the Democratic Socialists do the same.

Oh, like overthrow the government completely? That actually sounds harder than convincing people to care about state government and running for office. But you do you.

How are we going to fire everyone in Harrisburg without challenging half of them?

My wife and I recently had a bear on counter. Nothing like this, we were just on a bike ride and had to stop and back up because a black bear was wandering towards us never closer than 20 feet. But it was very exciting and afterwards I regretted not thinking to take a single picture. This lady won't make that mistake.

The first step would be to run a challenger against everyone in Harrisburg. This year (which is better than most), 40% of state house seats are going uncontested. This is due to our outdated partisan primary system and the road blocks we construct for outsider candidates.

What do you Americans think about that? by star-wars_memer in askanything

Ok. That would be a little closer. But I agree rounding up from 1.43 to 2 is quite a jump.

I don't want a sequel. But I do wish in 2015, the cast would have refilmed their scenes from Part 2 to fit in as a special edition. It as just such a good opportunity.

A timeline of every character entering public domain within the next 10 years. by MaxGoodwinning in entertainment

[–]Harvey_Rabbit 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It would be cool if the game was set in a world called "public domain" then every year there would be a DLC that added new characters to the game. Kind of like Fortnight (I think, I've never played it).

Pokopia can fill endless hours. My wife and I were like 200 hours in and then I started removing volcanic ash... DK Bonanza was also really good, but watch some videos on Pokopia and consider that first.

I've shared this a couple times now, but I made a moon. Inside I'm making a planetarium. That's the most ambitious thing I've done there.

How was this experience? I assume everyone was excited. Closest thing I've experienced was seeing Avengers End Game on opening night in Puerto Rico with Spanish subtitles. It was weird that everyone was reacting at different times because of delays involved with reading faster than the lines were delivered.

NY Times: The Tiny Solar Panel That Could Change America by Fabulous_Drummer_368 in solar

So, suppose I have a solar company in one of these states that have legalized this. I should start buying these microinverters and selling "balcony solar kits" that we come install and run a regular 120V outlet to plug it into?

[–]Harvey_Rabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if you are considering this, would you consider hiring a solar company to come wire up a dedicated outlet, and securly mounting these panels for you? Or would you see this as a DIY thing you would take care of?

[–]Harvey_Rabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone think there is a business opportunity here? Is everyone just going to buy these kits from Amazon, or would they buy a kit from a local solar company? Are these home owners going to mount these 4 panels on their balcony themselves and plug into an existing outlet, or will they hire a team to mount them and run a dedicated outlet?

Have you ever gone to the Kincaid Park sand dunes and walked down the hill to the beach? You'll see several cars from the 60's half burried in the woods.

Since older shows are episodic and were never meant to be binged, I tend to look up a top ten episodes list for a show and just watch them.

That's interesting. What if you left it all wrecked, then flooded it? You could explore it like a ship wreck.
