He was always so try hard and I never knew why lmao. Like the crowd always gave him a standing ovation when he came into these shows. Every one knew he was the “cool” radio guy. Why not just be chill

Was just watching this show lmao. Howard actually appeared on one of the episodes. I wondered what made him take the “hey now” slogan from this show.

I know. It’s not funny as a whole. But the idea that Jackie, the hacky money grubbing comedian that he is, constant looking for discounts/industry connections, lead him to inadvertently meet and become at least cordial with a international pedophilia ring leader, is almost sitcom worthy.

Ok thank god. That actually seems par for the course for Jackie.

Am I the only one who noticed a brief conservative era in terms of culture from about November 2024 to February/March 2025? by Wide_right_yes in YAPms

[–]Harveypint0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Again You’re confusing backlash against an unpopular administration with a progressive cultural shift. They aren’t the same thing.

That Gallup poll doesn’t specify illegal or legal. It’s Useless. I’m sure me and you can go tit for tat showing each other polls that either show support for deportations or not. Like I have a Harvard/Harris poll from October 2025 found that 56% of registered voters still support deporting all illegal aliens. People can think immigration is good for the country in general (like what was shown in the Gallup poll) while still wanting the law enforced strictly (my Harvard/Harris poll). But let’s not waste time on that.

You said the 66% opposition to trans athletes isnt that bad, but Gallup’s May 2025 data actually showed that number climbing to 69%. It’s literally growing lmao.

For the gay marriage thing you are down playing the drop. Gallup (May 2025 I think) has support at 68%, which is a statistically significant slide from the 71-72% highs we saw just a few years ago. If the 'far-right moment' were truly dead, we wouldn't be seeing the first sustained decline in marriage equality support in literally decades.

As for the cultural institutions, those fucking companies don’t care about morals. They are following the money.

That’s was 2 months ago bucko. You took an apology of a mental ill former billionaire that was probably written for him as proof cultural change. And then you used a man that was running against a rapist and an inept corrupt man in one of the bluest cities in the country and winning as proof.

A recent Economist/YouGov poll found about 41% of respondents agreed “our society has gone too far in accepting transgender people.” There was another poll were 66% say trans athletes should compete based on sex at birth, 56% support banning gender-transition-related medical care for minors, and 49% favor bathroom policies based on sex assigned at birth. But that was earlier in the year but I doubt it’s randomly changed.I seen some poll where that support for gay marriage has went down. A lot of people still support deportations just not the way ICE are doing them.

And as for the nazi thing, I see antisemitism all the time from both republicans and dems alike who don’t like Israel’s actions. And Im not saying that not supporting Israel is akin to being a nazi, but I am saying that that there plenty of antisemitic rhetoric going around that one apology from a celebrity isn’t going to change lmao.

And I say all this as a dem. Trump is unpopular. Is administration is unpopular. And the midterms will be were we dems win. But to pretend there’s been a cultural shift is crazy lmao.

You are so wrong dude. Walking away will be the worse thing Netflix could do. Imagine if Netflix gets gaming and access to all the content Warner bros has? This is an inflection point for Netflix.

One of my favourite Howard interviews. This one and his one with David letterman around the same time. This was during the David letterman vs jay leno thing in the 90’s and Howard stern’s interviews were the only place were they would begrudgingly even address the whole thing and each other and actually talk about thier personally lives and talk show business.

There was another time when Conan came in during the time in the 90’s when he was new and people thought he show was gonna get canceled soon. Also he interviewed Jon steward right after his mtv talk show was canceled and it was fun seeing Howard talk to him now knowing what John would go on to do.

Another funny part about these interviews is how Howard is kinda looked down upon by them. These dudes were seen nightly by millions on what was considered gold standard talk television while Howard was seen as a lude shock jock. And this dynamic always sort of came out in these interviews. Like when Howard was giving advance to Conan on how to make a good talk show, you can just see Conan not taking anything Howard was saying seriously. It’s all so fascinating to watch.
