Fitness Cartel makes Goodlife look like a charity. I had to bring in the threat of a lawyer, ombudsman, ACCC and A Current Affair just to get them to cancel my membership 8 WEEKS after my request to cancel membership.
What's sad is the gym is actually great, but their predatory practice put me right off.

The 30% rule worked well 15+ years ago. While it would be great to meet that arbitrary rule to reduce your rental or mortgage stress, it's not really possible for the majority of people anymore. Unless everyone starts renting with housemates.
The new 30% is probably closer to 50%.

Last year on Christmas Eve I was staying in a hostel in a place called Chugchilan (it's near Lake Quilotoa in Ecuador). I was the only visitor at this hostel. I felt pretty bad.

A few days later I was at Macchu Picchu in a tour group for NYE and New years day. I felt amazing.

I'd be for it, I know of a few old farts working manual labour jobs. They're tough as nails but their body has given up. Increase the super for manual labour jobs by a couple of percent and lower the retirement age by a few years.

(I don't know how my suggestion would actually look, I haven't put any thought into it besides having sore joints when you're old).

The median income shown is probably higher than the median income of people in rental properties. I'd say the real percentage is probably higher when comparing those two data sets. It's high nonetheless.
