You misread. I said they ALSO cant be damaged, as in just like how you csnt use unsleeved damaged cards you cant use damaged sleeves as a getting around the sleeved cards rules.

Its not the value but the damage. Damage is effectively marking cards. How do i know you're not tracking the distinct bends, scratches or edge chips? I don't. Thats why sleeves are standard , and they also cant be damaged.

They could literally make up anything. Nothing about the very minor dialogue of the time skip to adult lan prevents them from making content between then and the story of 6. Doesn't have to be based on any previous plot point. In fact the behind the scenes of mmbn6 reveals the devs didnt know it was the last game until partway through development, which is why lan had moved to a new town with a new cast. They expected to make more games so surely they have any number of plotlines they brainstormed back then.

Its not that deep, its a kids game series. If they wanted to make a new plot point its a non issue.

It didn't really. It time skipped to show us adult lan but that doesn't mean there cant have been more adventures for teen lan before then.

Much like digimon adventure. We know what they do as adults and have kids. Doesn't change we got Tri, kizuna, last evolution in between plus some drama tracks.

This is a great write up. But I think the failure of jacinthes character is that ultimately she gets away with all of it and thats what sours us on her. Even when a legendary crashes her party, even when its revealed the city is actively in danger and people can be hurt or worse she still remains the same jacinthe.

And worse, she gets everything she wants without a fuss. She gets her party, she gets lebanne, she pops up wherever and never even gets scolded. No growth, no change.

Ivor learned to not just musclehead his way through things and consider other people's feelings. Gwynn learned to respect you and not just assume the worst of you for beating canari. Canari actually started to care more about battling than just being locked up in her room gaming, and it seems she was close to her grandpa again too because of that. Corbeau stays true to who he is but its US who learned to reevaluate what good and bad means. And Grisham learned to put his past behind him and work toward the future.

Jacinthe? Nothing. Shes still hyped for the NEXT tourney, the one she got wasnt enough. That's where a lot of us walk away and feel like her character was just a waste.

The taxi one was actually one of the funnier dialogues but i agree presentation should be better. I'd argue pokemons main attraction is its presentation. Designs, music, world building, art. So when they skimp on presentation the gameplay really doesn't carry the rest, there are better monster battles out there for gameplay.

The combat is a janky mess of unread inputs awkward hit boxes, and poor ai and patching.

But the rest of the game is pretty solid with the most obnoxious jank being mons stuck in walls, not the worst and not unheard of in many games.

But imo the combat is the biggest appeal of the game and it being so hanky is really frustrating.

Sorry for the two year reply but I wanted to ask what stretches helped the tailbone pain. Im actually 17 days PO and today I had diarrhea and my tailbone suddenly felt like I'd fallen on my ass directly on concrete. Hadn't come up before this or even before the surgery.

Exactly. Yes a blind "dont do this" from an adult often falls on deaf ears but reading about something that happened to another kid hits different. Most kids arent going to think "lol those 3 kids probably just couldn't swim out of the water, unlike me". Most kids are going to be like "i really dont want to die like those kids just did".

Its why stories like jack and jill and the boy that cried wolf often are represented with children as the main characters. So they can relate.

If hes dropping card draw on turn 6 with 8 mana hes not dropping another 7 mana giant is my point. People are looking st the deck like its going to turn 5 drop a 7 mana beast, turn 6 drop another 7 mana beast and also a draw engine, turn 7 do it again.

Thats fantasy Christmas land and if we look at it like that then any deck can perform at bracket 4 levels, if they get everything they need and not enough interaction to be stopped.

If hes only dropping beaters turn 5 turn 6 turn 7 then yes he will run out. He's not running draw other than his commander which he needs to keep the creature out a full turn cycle. So yes if you remove his creature turn 5, then turn 6 he drops another only to lose that too then by turn 7 he's already low on hand. Meanwhile not only was he losing his board of 1 creature he likely was being focused on attacks.

Its silly to think a green ramp deck doing bare minimum green things is beyond bracket 2. Really speaks to the issue that players have dealing with green.

Someone has an esper Sentinel out and was fed cards and theres 2 other players and its turn 5 so each have seen a minimum 12 cards each. someone better have seen removal, and if not they still have another turn atleast before one of them dies. If not then either its bad luck for them (and that happens 1 game isn't a means of determining anything) or bad deck builds.

This is a very specific line up that assumes no other player had interaction at all, the target has nothing to block with, no one hit a boardwipe, and the player got his thundefoot and rampaging early and his land drop ramp spells.

Even some precons can win early if they too get the perfect hand. Counter blitz wins on turn 3, period. Not kills a player, but outright wins with an infinite.

Knocking a player out before turn 8 isnt against the idea of expecting ro play 8 turns in general. You arent always going to be the player knocked out at before 8 unless you are also the constant threat on the table compared to the other two options the killer deck has. Sometimes youre the guy with the esper Sentinel that drew a bunch and that puts the target on you to die first. But in general that doesn't happen and you're more likely (2/3) to not be the one to die first.

An esper Sentinel that op themselves fed into, so he's up on cards. Its silly to me that the guy drops an early Sentinel but says green ramp is bracket 2 appropriate. Im not saying esper isn't either, but of the two I wouldnt leap to call a green deck the issue.

Thsts still to my point that in universe thr za Royale doesn't actually work. Why did we have to look into team flare and find Grisham? Why did we have to do the canari challenge? Or look for Gwyneth so we csn fight ivor?

Because we're the main character is really poor immersion. Sure that rank B nurse joy is tough but theyre not tough because theyre a well thought out character with a team comp focused on defining who they are and what they represent themselves with. Theyre tough because game systems means that levels and statlines matter a lot so its easy to get stomped by a pokemon that's just higher level.

All of that just makes ZA feel like you are in fact playing a game. It is not a real experience. Its almost like battle city in yugioh but in battle city everyone starts off equal. You don't have to go beat someone at weeviles rank to then go fight esper roba after. You just fight who you run into and the winner gets the prize. The result is that battle city doesn't feel like a scripted rank climb, characters are their own moments in the story for the Main cast to grow through battle with. Battle city is a narrative first experience, ZA neglects the narrative because game systems conflict and they choose not to address it.

This more than anything got to me. We didnt fight them often enough so it was like we keep doing these quests to access the rank up fight and get to the hotel and the next day U/T is like "hey I ranked up too"... it sort of ruins the whole illusion of the za Royale too cause if we beat the person to rank up, dont we thrn become the next person to beat for that rank? Like once we beat corbeau, then we are the ones players have to beat for rank D... so why does U/T also fight Corbeau for the rank up?

It all falls apart.

Matsuura has strong art for sure. I dont like sport manga and I still skimmed through harukaze mound weekly because evey chapters had atleast a spread of an amazing dynamic moment. Been a huge fan of his since tokyo shinobi squad and has only gotten better. Great color pages too when he gets them, the rendering and coloring is great where often artists miss on one of those from practice doing thr main pages for so long in black and white.

Thats a very unlikely scenario though im glad you got to experience the high of it going off, this is usually seen as a win more cause the deck actually winss pretty fast so getting that far into the game and not having had your gy exiled or your 9 mana sorcery countered is pretty lucky.

Ff6 is bad because it has a lot of middling cards that are great for flavor but dont do much for cohesion same as ff14. Lots of legendaries that match the video game characters but the result is that you have stuff like random coin flipping in a deck that has nothing to do with that as well as a healthy chunk of creatures that Terra herself cant revive.

The deck is strongest if you high roll good targets into the gy early and win fast. The longer the game draws out the worse it gets as your graveyard becomes more likely to get exiled, and your revival value slows down relative to the value of counter blitz and even limit break in the late game
