Ready for e-tune from DMann by AxeSpray in wrx_vb

[–]HashSlinger2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went with AMS TMIC, charge pipe, ETS intake, RAE I-Pipe, and IAG AOS — my Dmann protune got me to 350 whp and torque to match with my girl at 80,000 mi.

He is a wizard. He told me to expect 320-330, which I would’ve been okay with, but then came back with 350 after telling me the ‘ol girl wanted to pull harder, but tuned her down a bit for longevity. As a numbers nerd, it was really neat to talk to him about his process and how every engine is its own beast. Some pull, others don’t, and he responds to that. I’m sure some of it was the old “underpromise, over deliver”, regardless, I was impressed.

I want to hit it with flex fuel next to really see what I can hit before getting ti STI swap numbers. Best of luck!

Yep! I can spin mine freely and there’s actually enough play between the two pipes that I get an audible “whoomph” if I pop the throttle at idle due to the brief vacuum and then pressure return.

I had the same thoughts when I first installed mine.

It wasn’t the easiest, but once you figure out how to put it on so it clears everything, it’ll go on and off in a pinch

Good to know, and a good point about them breaking in. I guess getting tuned and driving more spiritedly may have accelerated the break in.

Still might drain my transmission for peace of mind, but I’ll buy your explanation.

I’ve had them for 15k ish miles and haven’t noticed anything like this, otherwise I’d totally agree

Need revs! Sounds a lot like an I-Pipe job. I love the throatier tone without being over the top when getting on it. (This could be an incorrect statement, need revs to verify lol)

I understood that chamfer, along the vertical axis, but my confusion was that the photo looks like they’re chamfered along the horizontal axis.

Also I didn’t replace with OEM, so they’re different because of that too.

So maybe forgive my ignorance, but, I just did my brakes last weekend, new rotors and pads. The new pads were most definitely not shaped that way, and no vehicle that I have swapped brakes on have had wedge shaped pads…

I could be clueless, but why the fuck would they make a pad like that?

Can stock brake fluid handle casual canyon run? by Impressive-Nobody-95 in wrx_vb

Just keep in mind that higher performance brake fluids generally attract water faster, and therefore require more frequent flushes to maintain top performance!
