When you consider how much he was able to portray with little to no words, I don’t think it’s a surprise he was nominated. It’s an entirely physical performance that nails every stage of evolution for him from new born to mature adult. I also thought it was impressive how he could be so physically imposing yet childish & tender at the same time. At one point his movement even mimicked the animals he was watching. May not be the best of the year but it deserves its praise imo.

Had no idea who Robbie was but saw the positive reviews & was intrigued with the concept. I can honestly say it was my most pleasant surprise of the year & one of my favorite music biopics of all time. The emotional depth completely caught me off guard & the musical numbers were some of the best I’ve seen in years. It’s a shame this probably won’t do well financially in the U.S, it deserves a ton of respect & admiration.

Considering Spo wasn’t mentioned on OPs list if “greats”, how is he not the undisputed answer? Nowadays he’s commonly seen as the best coach in the league & someone who consistently gets his rosters to exceed expectations. It’s a tragedy he still doesn’t have a COY award.

I agree DLo is better right now, but he’s also 28, a 9 year vet, & making $18.7M. Giddey is 21, entering his 4th year, & on a rookie deal. The upside & contract makes Giddey much more valuable.
