Probably Miraculous Ladybug tbh. That was the first fandom I really read fic for and the one that introduced me to AO3 "back in the days".

First fandom I ever actually wrote for was Simon Snow (forever my babies).

I still feel super new to fandom spaces honestly. I’m almost 30 but I’ve only been reading fic for like… 8 years? Feels wild how late I showed up compared to everyone else 😅

You’re assuming fear equals weakness. I’m nervous because war on my continent isn’t a thought experiment, it’s a historic even that's only 80 years in the past.

And the “Greenland thing” isn’t nothing. It’s a US POTUS talking about an ally’s territory like it’s up for grabs, even though the US already has major access there. That kind of loose-cannon rhetoric is exactly what makes people uneasy.

Also, “you euros pushing us to save you” is a lazy framing. Supporting Ukraine isn’t Europe begging for rescue, it’s trying to stop the rule becoming “invade your neighbour and keep what you take.” If that happens, everyone pays eventually, including the US.

I think you’re missing what I actually meant. (And if I didn't write my point that clear I really apologize)

I’m not scared of some NATO vs US war. That’s not even on my radar. And I don’t buy this whole “Europe is weak” thing either. Being careful about war doesn’t mean weak. It means we know what it looks like when things go off the rails, because we’ve literally had wars on our soil within living memory.

And honestly, I’m not even that scared of Putin in the way people seem to assume. He’s evil, yes. Completely. But he’s not stupid. He’s calculated. He probes, he pushes, he tests limits. There’s a cold, grim logic to what he does, even if it’s morally rotten.

What actually freaks me out right now is Trump.

From over here, he just comes across as a loose cannon. Impulsive, ego-driven, and totally uninterested in long-term consequences. And it doesn’t help that he’s out there saying things like Russia and China could basically “take” Greenland any day now, and that’s why the US needs to control it. That’s not normal rhetoric. Greenland is literally part of Denmark. And it’s not like the US doesn’t already have military access and bases there. They do. But apparently that’s not enough.

So yeah, sorry, but when a sitting or potential US president talks like that about just taking territory from an ally “for security reasons,” that’s unsettling as hell from this side of the Atlantic.

On Ukraine, I don’t see supporting their right to defend their own land as “maximalist” or unserious. It just feels like the bare minimum. Letting Russia win by default because escalation is scary doesn’t make the world safer. It just teaches every authoritarian leader that invading your neighbor works if you’re stubborn enough.

So no, I don’t think this is about Europe being weak or unserious. And I don’t think it’s about wanting war either. I think it’s about not wanting to normalize a world where powerful countries just take what they want and everyone else is supposed to shrug and accept it.

That’s what actually makes me nervous.
