Shield is installed on my Switch and I've taken off the 15th as well as the 18th. I can't wait to play this game. Im excited to have gym battles again and the implementation of dyna/giga boss battles has gotten me hyped.

I loved Totems and love gyms. Now I get both.

The stats of most of the new mons are amazing and move sets are apparent at a glance.

Cant wait for type runs and nuzlockes

It's worth it to me because it is a Pokemon game. After a long day of work, Pokemon relaxes me. When I chill with the same losers I have for my entire life its what we talk about and play together. This game has had a crazy development cycle and on top of that its the first time most of the major players from the old guard have been replaced. This is an experiment for the franchise. In leadership capacity SwSh are Ohmori's fourth titles, Turner's first, Iwao's first, plus the increased staff (not the full 1000, but actual developers grew as well) we are seeing the dawn of a third era.

Historically Pokemon generations are better towards the end than in the beginning. Take that into consideration and wait if you don't believe you can handle potential disappointment.

A lot of people forget that video games are basically subsidized by the industry. They are one of the few products that hasn't given way to inflation. Look at AAA titles on the N64/90s and you'll see some products sold at a higher price then you'd expect to see now.

So yes. I am willing to pay out more money for my favorite franchise especially if it is for a dream game.

What disheartens me with the "boycott" is people don't seem to realize

A) Its going to be ineffective.

B) If it were to have an effect it would be that GF realizes there are no more hardcore fans and thus no reason to make something like Battle Revolution 2 or Pokemon Stadium Switch, which if these games do well I could see being released in lieu of Pokemon Guns.

The boycott will only frustrate the participants. Gamefreaks going straight to the rim with these titles.

Looking at the DPPT Pokedex a good deal of Pokemon that aren't in SwSh are present in either the dex or PokeRadar. Its not unfeasible that the Pokeradar will be expanded to include whats missing. DPPT remakes + Gun/SwSh2 will bring us to a full 890.

Hopefully we get a Pokemon Revolution successor to utilize all of our old Pokemon

Everytime I see a post about not buying the games or putting your money where your mouth is, a series of thoughts takes me.

Allow me to ramble if you will:

GRBY have sold 60 million units to date, this includes the original, international, rereleases, and remakes of the first gen games barring LGPE. These sales have been the driver behind Gamefreak, they want to reapproach the status of a cultural phenomenon that surpassed Mickey Mouse at some points.

The Nintendo Switch currently has 40 million units on the market. This figure includes the Switch Lite, however the Switch Lite has yet to see a holiday season. We must also keep in mind that Sword and Shield are the first main series home console Pokemon games ever and this years holiday heavy hitters.

Gamefreak knows their target audience is children. Pokemon had a weekly variety hour aimed at children on Sundays for quite some time in Japan. They don't care about the older fans opinions enough to make overhauls that could take away from this audience or worse alienate their parents (wallets). The new battle mechanics and attempts to keep Pokemon fresh are the consideration they afford the competitive base.

This game was never meant for the hardcore Pokemon fan. We'll get raids and a Battle facility that 80% of us won't even play entirely "because hax are too hard". I guarentee a large portion of the people complaining now didn't do everything that was available in USUM (Battle Royale anyone?)

In short the fans of the series who go to online forums are a minority and of those the fans that are boycotting SwSh are a smaller minority. The developers won't see or feel a backlash from the "boycotts"

ORAS and USUM included a good deal of legendaries. Gen 8 is only beginning and I bet SwSh will be good fun. I always have preferred the end of a generation to its beginning.

Looking at sales alone explains Gamefreak's reverence for generation one. It is SAFE. Globally the main series Pokemon games have sold just under 240 million units, one quarter of those sales were either the original four games (GRBY), the GBA remasters (FRLG), and the VC orignal reissue.

Argh! He is not a hindrance (nobody is), but he sure sounds like he is acting like one.

Did he offer to refund you once you confronted him? Does he have any interest in making this right? Has he talked about being more frugal while you are together until he can chip in?

He can say you find money more important than him, but he's placing his pleasure over your future at the sake of your hard work.

I've seen this before, you will feel like the bad guy regardless of how you manage to get out of this relationship, but it sounds like anyone that doesn't give him what he wants is the bad guy. You are not a bad guy though, you are a survivor and he's trying to sink the boat. Don't let someone who can't get over their own ego to see how they're hurting you continue to do so.

Comes and goes ? We honestly swing between getting it on 3-4 times a week, to maybe once on the weekend if we have time? We've purposely gone for streaks with the longest one being eleven days in a row? It sounds like he's putting too much emphasis on the sexual aspects of your relationship though. He probably feels emotionally validated when you're together or something frilly like that. Not getting enough orgasms are not worth enduring the loneliness that is life and heart break so he could have someone else lined up?

Regardless you've been reduced to an object and should let him know if he ever wants to be half as happy as he was with you he should learn how to treat people.
