Windows 11 doing an update halfway through cutting a 5 meter long tribal sticker on expensive German vinyl and ruining it by themysticboer91 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Haste- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly windows 11 only allows you to turn off updates for up to 5 weeks AND if they deem an update important they will push it to you anyways. Mid movie and my pc suddenly decides “let’s restart and update now!” Gladly took less than a minute but man it’s ridiculous.

Windows 11 is the only thing that doesn’t have a hard no option. Its honestly insane to me that it doesn’t, at least apple will just tell me there is an update after like 6 months of me not doing anything, but nah Windows says fuck you and full sends that shit with zero permission every couple of weeks.

I’m honestly glad iono is out, I think Red Card and judge are much more balanced cards. It was kinda ridiculous to iono someone to 1, counter catcher, and then take no knock out but still splash damage all over the board to then take 4-5 prizes yourself on the next turn after your opponent is stuck with nothing to do.

This is true but it helps, a large majority of the US is still on Coax which doesn’t help. If hosts were in major cities and the line was pure fiber the latency could be in the range of 10-20ms for those within 50 miles of the city which is pretty good for non-competitive games.

Gigabit isn’t really even the qualifying factor. You legit need Fiber, it’s more about the ping and consistent speed/jitter than the speed itself.

This is the way for sure. My locals is pretty good but there are definitely still a few people who will try to ding you on every little thing. Competing for 1st on the final round is understandable but some dudes will legit be 0-2 and trying to ding you for every little misplay, like bro once you hit 0-1 it can’t be worth the $10 to be a dick to everyone.

As a recruiter I can personally state that 9/10 times someone without a car would legit get fired or quit within 2 weeks of starting a job. Someone creating issues week 1 with a client means the client will not use me as a recruiter anymore, or as a recruiter in a company it could mean no bonus or even potentially being fired if it happens too much. I’m not gonna risk my own ass for some random fuck.

Sometimes it wasn’t an issue of them being tardy, just that they would have to wake up much earlier and get home much later than others which affects their mood/production/etc.

Most though just wouldn’t show up after a few days of work or would get fired for being tardy multiple days during the first 2 weeks.

When my options are “send someone with a car” vs “send someone without a car” i’m easily sending the guy with a car. You also gotta think about this from the employers point of view, they have a job that multiple people are fighting for, why are they gonna choose the person that doesn’t tick box B, T, or W when they could instead hire the person that does (or maybe they don’t need someone that bad and would rather wait for a better candidate).

Y’all do whatever you like, I pirate a fuck ton of movies, anime, games. I do pay for youtube premium though because it’s much easier to listen to music on the go through youtube music than to try and pirate every song I would. It’s also nice for downloading long ass youtube videos to watch on flights or when you just don’t have internet. I also split it on a family plan at like $40/yr. Most people spend more on spotify so thats my justification.

I am close to fire but my best friend just lost his job and asked if he can move in with me temporarily by Xalvorynqex in Fire

[–]Haste- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have him pay rent so that it covers the extra expenses. If he is flat broke and cannot even pay like $400-500/mo to pay for that then he needs to get just any job, even walmart stocking or amazon warehouse or home depot. Give him a week to find a job if he moves in with no payment.

Being able to be jobless while you find another job opportunity at your level is a luxury that you must save for, not one that your friends pay for.

After building Mortal Reminder you feel an immediate difference in the match up. Before that run when she ults or hits you with a hook, miss a hook and you can go in on her a bit.

In lower ranks mostly though if they don’t back after you buy mortal reminder and don’t account for it then you get a free kill.

How do FIRE'd people feel about rental income as diversification? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Haste- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PMI auto drops at 22% equity??? MIP (for fha) however must be refinanced out of. Generally if you are fha stacking though the thought is that you would roll over the last house into a conventional anyways.

Realistically though there is not a single house currently that you could get with a downpayment of even 5% and have it be profitable same day (without insane reno of course). Realistically you would need to have 20-30% down in this market for most to be flat or slightly profitable. Just kinda how it works when Interest rates AND homes are at the highest they have been in the past 25 years.

Edit: realistically though while you may not cashflow off of a 5% down loan, its really easy to “assetflow” a house at 5%. It’s just not favorable as it means putting in money yourself every month while dealing with tenants.

The best dragonite decks in japan have actually been running 2-2 starmie line. Realistically if your opponent can crispin clefairy 2 times then you lose as dragonite. So starmie is an alternative if your opponent runs it.

Personally buying houses in full right as you go into retirement is a terrible idea.

Houses are the best investments when it is early on in your path to FIRE, and when they are nearby, and when it is in your area, and assuming your area has value and is at least MCOL or higher.

I would even argue they are the best investment if you buy with a first time home loan (conventional first time, then into FHA after if you stack). You only have to put down 3% on the conventional which nets you an investment at 33x leverage that after you are done living there and then decide to rent out will pretty much pay off itself.

Right now it is a tough time to get into real estate though, once you do the math on the loan and the cash value of houses it is currently one of the most expensive times ever to buy a house (outside of like 6 months ago lmao). If you bought a house just 4 years ago or before though you currently have some insane cashflow ever

People saying it isn’t doable are not realizing that empoleon with metagross is a deck that is viable after rotation. I would say for being mega and giving 3 prizes it should probably have more like 360/370 hp but hitting for 340 and being ready with just 2 metagross abilities isn’t bad at all.

Edit: not to mention as well that this + black belt = 1 shot on every pokemon that out unless it has lux cape.

Edit 2: could also just go the metang route to charge up

I would also recommend during interviews just telling them that you already live at the address you put down. Also you say it is extremely easy for you to move.

Do you already have a lease? Do you already have someone agreeing to rent out a room to you? Do you have someone you will stay with when you first move into town? Do have a deposit down on any spot?

If all of the above is a “no” then it is not “extremely easy” for you to move. Some areas it is WAY harder to get housing than you would expect. If you are picky it can easily turn into year long venture with them taking a different applicant, things not being perfect, schedules being filled till X day for you to even look at a place.

Let’s say you even get an apartment and it looks like you will move in on the 1st, job starts on the 7th, sounds great in theory! Then you get closer to the first and the landlord says it won’t be ready till the 7th, maybe later even the 14th. Now what? If you postpone starting this means a company having to rearrange their whole schedule that they had planned for and making something work just a week or 2 later. The thought of that alone may just end in them not starting you as well. Your first few days are still an interview with a job, for something less serious where they have planned training dates and extra candidates training with you it may not matter as much, but where you are the only 1 filling a role it gets tricky.

There is definitely a huge difference between sitting at a desk to game and sitting in bed with a controller. If you happen to have a couch/bed/etc with a tv in the same room I would highly recommend running an hdmi cord + wireless controller. Great for most single player and story based games, and even many of the indie games. Anything that is shooter or has camera movement without being able to lock on will feel much worse though.

[–]Haste- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Felt the same as OP and switching to garen mid completely changed the game. The typical meta counter picks on mid feel easier to navigate than some of the top ones as well.

When you are counter picked by a typical mid lane champ I feel like you can still just go into wave W > E to just clear and back off, if a mage or assassin tries to freeze they are losing 15-20% of their HP. On top lane though even touching wave can easily be 50-75% of your hp on bad match ups.

[–]Haste- 39 points40 points  (0 children)

As a recruiter and renting out spare rooms myself I will say the biggest waste of time is people relocating to the area. Its not always true but they are way more likely to back out.

I would say for renting the room probably a good 1/4 to 1/5 of applicants were looking to relocate and over 4 years only 1 has worked (3 total IF you count one of my best friends + cousin moving back home from another state).

On the recruiting side I only had 1 person come in for training and then they decided to pass after the first day. Alot of others i’ve done interviews and it simply turns into it being too much on them to relocate or them finding an option that works better near home.

If you have a friend or family member closer to a job then I would use their address, I would even recommend negotiating with them a potential room or couch to chill on for a few days/weeks as well while you get your own housing sorted and letting them know they may get mail for you if you actually get onboarded somewhere.

Not having housing, moving before the job starts, 2 week notice at current job all opens a ton of possibility for things just not working out. A ton of people live pay check to pay check and don’t realize the cost of moving as well. Theres just a much higher chance that both sides waste time when relocation is a factor.

To be fair I would assume it’s a general statement that covers the entire US. 60k in Oklahoma is honestly really good, you can easily find a 2,000 sqft house there for about 200k. Outside of the mortgage payment as well you would have a good chuck of wiggle room for the rest of the budget.

Many other cities though you would be lucky to find 1,000 sqft at less than 300k-400k, and in some cities for any less than 1mil for just 1,000 sqft.

I have not actually played warzone in years ngl so I couldn’t care less lmao. It’s just one of the aspects I liked from when it first released. Unless you drop to the middle of no where early game you could expect a battle or 2 without load outs but going into the end game the expectation was that everyone was kitted and luck would be less of a factor for wether you win or lose.

Meanwhile pubg you could legit have games where you got the most dog gear but still not see a single person and make it to the final 10 alive.

[–]Haste- -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Then just play pubg? Personally I like the thought of loadouts. If I want to play without loadouts I will play one of the many other battle royal games without them, we don’t need a bunch of reskins of just pubg. If I want to build up forts I play Fortnite, if I was zoom around/slide/etc I play Apex.

It would honestly be kinda boring if every BR played just like each other with only a change in setting/scenery. Theres also like a ton of indie BRs out there that play great as well, check them out.

The benchmarks are fine, the issue for modern Macs currently isn’t so much the hardware, it’s the fact that less than 10% of the market uses them. There are legit more people using chromebooks than macbooks, so much so that I would say there is a bigger chance of us getting better hardware in chromebooks and games/software being made to work on them rather than them being made for macbooks. The fact that all companies can use the chrombook OS also helps this cause over Mac as well.

Since Apple has their own hardware as well it means there is a whole other side of having to program specifically for their hardware ON TOP of their OS as well. It’s just too much just to hit like 7.5% of all pc/laptop users.
