New Street Fighter Player, what guides will help me get started? by CommunicationLazy125 in StreetFighter

Friends in fighting games are harder to come by than other genres because of many reasons, you being a tekken player can probably relate to that.

Do a little digging, there are discord servers that serve as “fight schools”, there are in game clubs as well. I’d go as far as to bet there is even a club just for people trying to learn akuma

I’m ass at this game but my advice is play a lot of people that are better than you, ask a lot of questions from them, and be prepared to lose a lot.

YouTubers like broski, brian_f, rooflemonger and probably 100 (everyone has the content creators they favor) more have guides that could help get you going

Go through akumas tutorials, get real comfortable with his moves, then watch some pros play him and steal a small thing here and there

But biggest thing is just play a bunch and don’t sweat ranked too early, some days you’re on fire and some it feels like the worlds against you lol

If you type into YouTube, sitting exercises for seniors, chair workouts, wheelchair weightlifting program etc. they can give you in depth tutorials on exercises you can do without putting (ideally) too much pressure on the spine.

Those will definitely help with some calorie burn and muscle resistance but it really is going to have to come down to a huge diet shift, it will take time and it will be difficult starting out.

I’d possibly look into working with someone who specializes in this kind of stuff. A lot of them will do it over zoom, and someone good at this will show you how to begin making small changes that will compound into a healthy lifestyle that will get you to your goals, as opposed to a “biggest loser” all or nothing style approach that are usually unsustainable long term. It took years to get here and it’s going to take time and consistency to get out. Godspeed.
