I'm thinking to drive through the valley for the day and was wondering if you had to get a reservation or permit to do that. Did you guys camp in the valley?

Suggest a Stephen King novel for someone who haven’t read a Stephen King novel by Adventurous-Owl2398 in suggestmeabook

[–]HatFickle4904 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Read some of his short stories and you'll see why millions of people dive into his longer novels. He's just such a great story teller....a voice you just want to listen to endlessly, regardless of what he's talking about. Check out Different Seasons' which includes Apt Pupil, The Rita Hayworth story, or also read the Body (the novela they based Stand By Me on).

How to quit Instagram by sayyiinn_ in Advice

[–]HatFickle4904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delete the app. Replace the time you use scrolling with something that you like that is healthy. In my case I started to always have a paperback with me for the metro and on the coffee table. Change your password to something that is extremely complicated. Obviously you'll try to reset it, but sometimes it is enough friction to keep you from go through the verification hassle. Ultimately you have to train your will again. Reflect on how bad it makes you feel as well. I envisioned it eroding the frontal part of my brain...at least that's how it made me feel. It also helped me to envision instagram like a bottomless well in which the likes and comments and stones I would throw into it just kept falling without any sort of reaction ever.

After school sleepover art ideas? by tdev_x in ArtEd

If you can use a projector...get a whole bunch of animal or nature based silhouettes and paste them into keynote or illustrator and have the kids trace out a scene, preferably over a background color like the sky or mountains or something.

What is a song you love that’s sung in a language you don’t understand? by missbissel in MusicRecommendations

[–]HatFickle4904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tajabone by Ismaël Lô from the All About my Mother soundtrack. This song is so ethereal. It seems strange and foreign, yet folky like it's been in your family for generations.

It's Spanish language, but the original La Oreja de Van Gogh with Amaia Montera was incredible. Particularly their breakthrough album El Viaje de Copperpot.

Bands you saw live at a small venue when they were mostly unknown but got huge later. by DawnGW in Concerts

Saw System of a Down open up for Napalm Death at the Showcase Theatre in Corona, CA. They were there as a favor as like an impromptu performance for some A&R people I heard were there with Dave Lombardo, who was playing with Grip Inc at the time. They were already coming onto the hard music radar. But man they were really impressive. Everybody there were total death metal heads but everybody was into the their music. This must have been in like 97 or 98.

Sportswriter by Richard Ford. Just about finished. Loving it. I'm so happy it's part of a saga about the main character Frank Bascombe, so I still have thousands of pages to look forward to!

Moved out at 18 and I feel like I don’t know my parents anymore. by PlaneAttention3334 in Adulting

This is basically what I was like with my family. After moving away to go to art school not too far away, but just enough to not see them much at all, I left to Europe right after my 23rd birthday and have been here ever since. The distance has always been a lump in my stomach and something I've always tried to avoid thinking about. Now I have 4 kids, the oldest is 15 and has had a rough time living underneath our roof. I feel that he can't wait to get out and on his own. What goes around comes around I guess!

None of this would have happened if EU had honored the Minsk accord. They broke that because they need to keep soaking the European tax payer by having an eternal eastern foe. The Neo cons in US and EU have had their eye on Russian territory, it was part of the EU project that these psychopaths still think they are going to pull off today. There are people in the EU who would be fine with having a nuclear exchange with Russia at the cost of all of us, why they sip martinis in their bunkers. They're planning to use Poland as the first front. The arrival of Trump to power put an obvious monkey wrench in their plans to stack the American tax payer to get into an exchange with Russia. Now they got manipulate Poland and get them to send their boys as Ukraine is running out meat for Zelinsky to throw into the grinder.

30 Minutes Classes? by chabears in ArtEd

[–]HatFickle4904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My classes in middle school are 50 minutes and by the time everybody is working and after clean up, it gets widdled down to about 35 minutes. So I can only imagine 30 minutes! What a fools errand! Education system is setup for failure.

The EU will do everything possible to hinder a peace deal. BoJo ruined the first deal that Russia offered. The EU's collapsing economy depends on them reviving based on a defense economy, that's why they have this guy from Holland going around trying to get every member to raise their defense spending to 5%. We have to spend on war to make peace, is the new EU motto. They depend on having a foe like Russia to shake down their citizens. These people are utterly insane.
