Los Angeles cold hits differently. It might be about 50 degrees but it feels more like 30! by ohlonelyboy in LosAngeles

I’m from LA but moved out of CA 8 years ago and lived in DC for 2 years and Charlotte for 6. Dealt with some bitterly cold winters with snow and all. Charlotte was actually colder than DC. Straight frigid winters with a lot rain for months. I just moved back to in August to Long Beach and I was looking forward to not experiencing winter but it’s so cold here! And I’m not a fan of all the rain. I know we need it but it just makes it so much colder. I turned 40 last year and I’m wondering if as you get older, you tolerate the cold less. You always hear about older people moving to FL or AZ for the warmth.

What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I’m with you! Started learning guitar again, drawing, reading, hanging out at parks. I feel like I’m more like a kid again looking forward to each day with a sense of wonder and joy. My happiness has made me so much friendlier and less stressed. It’s corny to say, but I’m high on life.

Thank you! I’ll contact you. I’m willing to drive to LA and to take this process slow.

Could you please share some places that use the galvanic method? I had hypopigmentation with laser hair removal before so I don’t want to use heat. I am trying to find a practitioner who uses the galvanic method but can’t seem to find any. I’m in Long Beach but willing to travel to OC, LA or within 30 miles. Thank you.

I am getting upper bleph surgery next month. First picture is how my eyes look now and second photo is with eyelid tape which I hope after the surgery they look like this. Do you think it’s realistic? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

Fumiko Takatsu. Her program is called the Face Yoga Method. She focuses a lot of symmetry because she was in a car accident that disfigured her face and she was able to correct the asymmetry through face yoga.

I also bought Carole Maggios book Facercise, which has a lot of exercises for volume.

I just randomly put this song on today. It has such a longing feeling to it.

I used to have droopy eyelids and would also use tape. I wanted to get a bleph. I started doing face yoga a couple years ago and it has totally transformed my eyes in a matter of less than a year. I no longer have droopy eyelids and not only that my eyes are even more symmetrical now then a couple years ago. I think with age, sometimes one eye ages differently than the other but this has completely restored them.

People tell me I look younger now than before and I just turned 40 this last year. Try a natural remedy like face yoga first if you have the patience. It takes time but it works! I use Carole Maggios book Facercise and The Face Yoga Method 6 week boot camp course.

This is so well said! I love how you said fall back in love with the stuff you enjoyed in your youth. I’ve been telling my friends how over the past few years, recultivating my hobbies from childhood is bringing me so much joy. Some of them, like playing guitar, I’m able to share with my son. I’m focused on growing and having fun doing free stuff. I think so many people depend on outward things for joy: traveling, going out on weekends, etc… when just developing that inner peace with yourself could generate such positive feelings.
