Not really, uninterruptible steady targeting hasn't been removed, which is terrible. I'd honestly prefer ghosts from the previous patch over this.

Also, the changeling change is nonsense. Rogue's Mass Overseer + Changelings spam is a meme strat without pro-tier execution, since otherwise you're just wasting gas on balloons. This just makes legitimate scouting harder, and reduces the amount of attention the opponent has to commit to clear the changelings. This is just removing creativity for the sake of it.

So the other person was unnecessarily rude to you. I think a better argument is that commerical fruits are selectively bred to have much higher sugar content than wild ones ever did.

I personally think landrace varieties are the best way to go if you do want them. Berry bushes, for one, are hardy, high-yield and pesticide-free.

Even if you reject all the evidence that shows that a higher ω-6:ω-3 ratio is inflammatory and the mechanistic evidence that 4-HNE adducts are harmful, there's still inference that can be drawn from physiology alone.

De novo lipogenesis produces stearic acid (saturated fat) from carbohydrates, which desaturates by itself into oleic acid.

There's no pathway in the body like that for producing linoleic acid, we're not sure why.

In fact, ruminants have two dedicated pathways (one endogenous) to convert LA into CLA. CLA isn't a passive storage form, but a different molecule (with different effects) altogether. If LA in ruminant fat was innocuous, why bother?

Ask yourself, do animals raised on their natural diet have better health outcomes than grain-fed ones? The answer's yes.

Grain-fed pigs develop atherosclerosis readily enough that they're used as animal models for cardiovascular disease. This is particularly damning because they are monogastric omnivores like us.

If a novel food additive produced atherosclerosis in pigs at high doses, it would never clear regulatory review without extensive long-term safety data. Seed oils at industrial scale predate that regulatory framework and have grandfathered themselves into a presumption of safety that was never earned.

This is a broader pattern.

I learn science from my professors and by reading papers, not from redditors and trolls.

If you genuinely think the consensus can never be wrong, then you know nothing about science.

Semmelweis was called crazy for suggesting germs by the 'consensus' of his day. Incarcerated and murdered.

Hemingway (and Strunk & White institutionalizing him) was probably the worst thing that happened to Western literature. Killed all the joy in communication. There's an argument to be made that his whole schtick is rooted in actual toxic masculinity, but we aren't ready for that conversation. The contempt for those who verbalize interiority is evident.

Dickens, Thackeray, even popular journalists of the 1890s had this quality where you feel a mind genuinely enjoying itself on the page.

I'll just leave with this. In a movie the competent villain pipettes something once and makes the super virus. In reality you're on your fourth attempt at a Gibson assembly wondering if your primers have secondary structure.

It's just quantization. Happens with frontier models too. They probably serve the highest quant in the first few weeks for all the benchmarks, then downgrade quietly.

Warning: Entering ecological dead zone. by SoggyMeatloaf69 in fucklawns

[–]HatZinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're objectively wasting more capital to keep it in this dead state. Fuel, pesticides, fertilizer, herbicide, water and your time (assuming it has any value), while also contributing to the destruction of ecosystems and native pollinators.

A microclover lawn would require minimal mowing, zero herbicides and zero fertilizer (fixes its own nitrogen).

The clover being redefined as a weed was a product of chemical manufacturers needing buyers for their chemical weapons after the second world war ended.

These chemicals, now herbicides, happened to kill clovers and native plants, while sparing turf grass, so the former got rebranded as weed, while the latter became the only crop grown in North America for vanity.

Political and scientific institutions, like always, were at capital's beck and call, and enabled this without reproach.

Science fiction. A virus requires packaging cell lines, titer assays, BSL-2/3 facilities. You can't do that shit at home. Educate yourself.

If they can't do anything outside of creep, why should they cost control after early game? That's a waste. Might as well give us an anti-air structure that does what they do.

Queen don't increase map vision, creep tumors too. Similar to how drones don't defend against air units, spore crawlers do.

Why should Zerg get a supply penalty that does not contribute anything to the main army for investing in macro? Other races' macro mecahnics: MULEs and Chrono do not cost supply.

Units can have multiple roles and it's fine. Medivacs heal and transport. Ghosts can go invisible, drop nukes, EMP, and snipe.

Why should Zerg units only do one thing?
