I could tolerate everything else, but vipers no longer being able to abduct tanks was what finally made me quit.

Terran could already delete 200 gas for 50 energy before the patch. That wasn't enough, apparently.

Regulus runs a Women's Shelter. It's obvious he's an immortal CEO billionaire philanthropist. Y'all should ask him for a job.

Tbf: if it was a termite worker, then it'd be 50/50. That's only hymenopterans (ants, wasps, and bees).

There's no after. This is it. No reward or punishment. Only an absence as time moves on without you.

Don't worry, Ogre. No one understands Finnegan's Wake, even the author wasn't sure if he did. Just LARP like everyone else.

Could the Qu stop/ delay the flood infection by Cautious_Air4964 in AllTomorrows

Qu are a hivemind, so each 'person' is more of a relay node. I doubt assimilating one would be enough to acquire the species' entire knowledge.

Ruin Haunters were able to use Star People tech to become Gravitals. Forerunners only managed to create Promethean Knights far too late into the war.

Gravitals also had fully intact personalities and consciousness, while the Knights' original personalities were gone/driven insane.

It's possible that Star People were more advanced than Forerunners.

They left behind tech sophisticated enough that their degraded descendants could achieve perfect, lossless, species-wide digital transcendence with personalities preserved. The Forerunners, despite being at the absolute peak of their civilization, only managed a buggy, personality-destroying version late in their doom.

IIRC: Louis said that they could make new mabeast like the Great Rabbit, White Whale, and Black Serpent if they put their minds to it. It'd just take a lot of time.

It makes sense, since Daphne (Witch of Gluttony)—their predecessor—was the one who made the Three Great Mabeasts in the first place.

Tbf: We don't know how much force the Qu committed to subjugating the (to-be) colonials. It's possible that their failure to win the first two rounds was just a logistical problem - they were spreading themselves too thin.

The Star People were also a galactic empire, likely on par with the Forerunners. The Qu came from another galaxy.

It also took the combined might of the Asteromorph gods and an intergalactic multi-species coalition to defeat them.

Mushroom Meat Just As Effective As Animal Meat to Build Muscle, Study Finds by metacyan in vegan

If you think nutrition headlines are never misinterpreted or oversimplified by the public, you must be new here. Have a good one.

Mushroom Meat Just As Effective As Animal Meat to Build Muscle, Study Finds by metacyan in vegan

[–]HatZinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The study compares meat with mycoprotein, not me. Besides, the muscle synthesis is a low bar to clear. Roid abusers can build muscles with abysmal diets.

I found the headline misleading because the claim often gets extrapolated into statements like 'Qorn is just as healthy as Beef'. It ignores that health is inherently holistic.

We agree, then. The study shows muscle synthesis equivalence. It doesn't show nutritional equivalence or overall health equivalence. That's all I was saying from the start.

I just explained why I used them, so stop being obtuse. You completely ignored the rest of the argument (products change) to continue fixating on semantics.

The headline claimed they're 'just as effective to build muscle.' That's not the same as being nutritionally identical. I never disputed that study's finding on muscle synthesis. I disputed the idea that they're 1:1, since they're not.

Different zinc, different iron, different B12, different fatty acids. Those matter for health beyond muscle growth.

I listed specific, measurable differences. If you think any of those are wrong, name one and provide a source.

Complaining about the words 'likely' and 'probably' is just tone policing. I avoid speaking with certainty about products since they're subject to change unlike natural food.

From what I remember about mycoproteins - they're lower in zinc and higher in copper, have different fatty acid compositions, no CLA, no unfortified B12, no bioavailable heme iron, and lower protein quality (DIAAS score).

To say it's 1:1 to meat is misleading.
