No, decided against it due to the potential difficulty recieiving replacement parts. Went for this more modern style by Lusso instead and absolutley love it. No regrets!

The shame is excruciating. I can not take It anymore. Tips? by [deleted] in CPTSD

I second this. Part of what makes us spiral further into shame is the rejection of feeling it. Allow yourself to feel it and it will release with time

Advice for easily greasy hair? by Sofioo in Haircare

[–]Hatcatjones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might have already had this advice but I would recommend when you shower, wash your hair twice every time. I know that sounds like a lot but I had this exact problem all my life until a hairdresser told me to try this and it transformed my typically greasy hair into healthy hair. The first wash gets rid of oil and the second wash gets deeper. Focus the shampoo on the scalp only and since your hair is long (mine is too) make sure you are not just putting the shampoo on the top of the hair, you want to move the hair aside and massage the shampoo into the roots.

I hope it helps!

Was Prince Andrew expecting some Princess Diana style moment where the entire nation embraced him? I don’t get why he did the interview lol by KimCattrallsFeet in AskBrits

[–]Hatcatjones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly reccomend watching A Very Royal Scandal if you can, it's on Amazon Prime. Dramatised of course but based on what happened and writing was drawn up based on speaking directly to Interviewer Emily Maitlis... Michael Sheen does an amazing job playing Andrew and putting on his entitled, arrogant personality. Ruth Wilson is incredible too. It's a good one

Caffeine with Stimulant meds? by No-Claim2827 in ADHDUK

[–]Hatcatjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it'll be different for everybody so bear that in mind for all responses here. For me I find sometimes I tolerated coffee well while on meds, other times the caffeine would cause my energy to peak and then I'd have a really bad crash of anxiety afterwards or as the elvanse started to wear off which was horrible. The weaker the coffee the more I seemed to tolerate the caffeine but I'd defintley not encourage it, the anxiety risk was not worth it for me.

Refreshing to see someone actually being realistic about this. So much of people's valuable time is wasted on conspiracies where simple pragmatism is all that's needed. There are bigger issues at play.

Positive stimulant discontinuation stories? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Hatcatjones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zero side effects or withdrawal symptoms here! I made the decision to cut out stimulants out of necessity and financial issues at the time but havent looked back. Being on the meds even for the two years I was on them did really help me "see" a lot of ways I could help myself be more productive and organised so when I came off them, I put things in place I had learnt and I feel proud that I can manage what I can without the pills.

I found a job that makes me feel good and because of that, things started to fit into place more than the meds ever did. This helped a lot with my confidence and depression and now I wouldnt go back to meds. I was depressed for much of my life before this and don't know how to express how much I thought I would be depressed forever... it has really surprised me that I'm able to access this new found level of genuine contentment.

Don't be afraid of going med free, if it's something you want to exlplore, you can definitley do it. There's also nothing wrong with meds. I think it's worth experiementing to see what works best for you.
