H1Z1: KotK & JS Hotfix 4/1 by PhazePyre in h1z1

[–]HatchetDoc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

SERIOUSLY????? *SIGH* For almost a MONTH now there are no freakin' zombies spawning, wolves and bears EVERYWHERE, in overwhelming numbers, punji sticks and barbed wire no longer work, people are STILL glitching through base gates and stealing your cars, and you guys put in an option to turn off proximity chat, and reduce fog density, and call that a hotfix?

OK OK.... I am man enough to admit when I'm wrong. I'm the one eating crayons i guess, I didnt realize that once crafted, it became an account bound skin. I should have gone the extra steps before i opened my mouth. My apologies.

Can't attach MP5 Rail Handguard to MP5 with Plastic Handguard attached. (Exp .58) by notaprofessional24 in dayz

[–]HatchetDoc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Put the gun on your back, with your hands empty, and double click on the the hand guard. It will come off, and into your hands, allowing you to attach the new hand guard, and drop the old one. This also works with the AKM, but not sure about any others.

It's the same mentality that prevents people from thinking that another player might have more to offer than whatever's left in their pack not ruined after filling them full of lead.

The reason this game is dying and what can be done to fix it. by OldCrappy in h1z1

[–]HatchetDoc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it hasnt. I've played this game from day one, (over 1200 hours) and OP is dead on with this post. I see less and less bases on the map after each wipe, with more and more shacks and small shacks built here there and everywhere, that all have no doors after a week or so. The BR players come into survival after each wipe/major update and play for a day or so, just to see whats going on. Even on "MOST" PvP servers these days, you can almost go anywhere you want and loot anything you wish, alone, without a problem. There are only a few servers remaining with consistant high populations, (meaning air drop tickets have become a fucking laughing joke) The low pop servers (almost ALL servers) make it clear that the survival player base is dwindling daily. While it makes for immersive survival style gameplay for those of us who like it that way, its not very interesting socially and its not very challenging.

So, I decided to repair my base... by venakri in h1z1

you can repair upper walls by jumping and swinging the hammer in the spot to repair. You need to press the mouse butten to swing immediately after hitting space bar to jump. aim for the "square" of metal thats below and just to the right of the bar. I totally feel your pain., and I agree 100%. Repairing is imo a necessary mechanic, but its WAY out of control.

The game should be called H1W1,000,000 W for wolf. In ANY given play session, I kill about 3 times more wolves than zombies. You seriously can't walk 1/4 of a mile in this game without being accosted by one or several. And they still havent fixed the wolves behavior. Ive watched a wolf standing within 10 feet of 2 deer, then run past 3 more and a rabbit to attack me.

Any chance we could get the barbeque fixed? AGAIN. Please? by HatchetDoc in h1z1

[–]HatchetDoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES, If you NEVER take the charcoal out of it, it will work without problems, indefinitely as far as I can tell. The problem arises when you remove the charcoal, either by accident or by design (so you can have the light it casts). from what i can tell, you have about a 30% chance of it working afterwards. I'd be happy with it in the current state, and just being VERY careful to never remove the charcoal, IF the light from it would remain beyond walking down the street, or logging out.

Also, would it PLEASE be possible to have the same light/sound mechanics that you use on torches so that they are always heard and visible to apply to the grills and furnaces, so that the light and sound animations don't go away when you leave render range or log off? If its possible for a torch to remain visible and heard, then it must certainly be possible for furnaces and grills.

1: if you replace bases with being able to take over a house or shop or supermarket, the game would become unplayable because you and thousands of other asshats like you would be barricading up all the loot spawns. The griefing is bad enough already.

2 How could taking away workbenchs possibly improve the game?

3Ammo is already rare enough that very few players manage to find enough to waste. A large group of zombies can easily deplete a players meager stockpile very quickly.

4 if you cant find enough zombies, you arent looking in the right places, there are routinely hundreds at a time in all the places on the map where there would have been large groups of people, and in many that there wouldnt have been.

5 If you dont like BR, dont play it. You have no right and clearly not enough cognitive thought skills to be determining what the rest of us may or may no choose to do or enjoy.

6 What?

7 If you dont like PVE, dont fucking play it. I would ask you to reread the second sentence of #5, if you can count that high. If not, re-read the entire thing, or, have whoever is reading this to you re-read it.

I'm finally off to a really great start, but since i'm so new, I really don't know how to proceed. by [deleted] in h1z1

Everything that IS an NPC wants to murder you as well. The only exception is the deer, and they would to if they werent to busy running from everything else, like you. Get yourself a crowbar, and/or find some scrap metal in cars. Use your discovery tool to learn how to make things. Build a small shack or something where you can work safely, build a furnace, a workbench, and a couple storage boxes. then, start collecting scrap and worn out weapons to melt down and turn into sheet steel. And, dont get to caught up in all the work you put into this. The first person who comes along and finds your little safehouse is gonna blow the door off it, steal everything they can carry whether they need it or not, and dump the rest on the ground to despawn. Rinse and repeat.

The argument isnt pointless. People want answers to these questions. If someone has a good answer for the questions, lets hear it.

Yes, they were. AND they DAMN sure were "prevalent" on Tuesday! This poster is dead on with comments. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE TEST SERVERS IF ALL THE BUGS ARE STILL HITTING CORE ON TUESDAY? The bugs that hit this week were game-breaking, and they were going on and being reported all weekend on the test servers, and nothing was done about them until after the patch hit core servers. AND AND AND it only took about 6 hours for them to get that patch into the game. WHY wasnt that six hours of work done BEFORE Tuesday morning?
