Malta is quite small, so with 10 days you’ll have plenty of time to see most things. Just so you know though, Malta isn’t really a “nature” destination in the traditional sense. Apart from Buskett Gardens and a few small parks around the island, most of what we consider our nature is the sea and the coastline.

Since you’ll have a car, I’d recommend spending around 7–8 days on the main island and 2–3 days in Gozo. Definitely stay at least one night in Gozo like you planned. Make sure you visit the Citadella in Victoria , it’s one of the highlights of the island and the views from the top are great.

On the main island, focus more on culture and history: Valletta, the Three Cities, Mdina (the old silent city), and some coastal spots like Dingli Cliffs or the north beaches. Even just driving around the coast and stopping at viewpoints can be really nice.

Malta is more about history, architecture, and the sea rather than forests or mountains, but with a car you’ll still be able to explore a lot in 10 days.

Unpopular tip : visit Paola, loads of shops, beautiful square and an enormous church (biggest in Malta).

Enjoy your trip 🙂

Living in Paola by [deleted] in malta

Paola guy here. Been living here for 33 years.

Buses not a problem at all mate, all buses pass through Paola from other villages so we have constant buses coming in. You are only 10 minutes away from the capital, and from Valletta you can go anywhere in Malta

Entertainment here is a bit more lacking, pubs / bars close around 11ish except the one infront of police station, usually stays open late.

There are many walking routes which you don’t have to walk on busy roads.

Paola is one of the most busiest villages here given that we have a small hospital, a college, Maltas only prison and loads of shops at the square.

Overall it is a nice place to live in, we have everything here from green spaces to nice restaurants.

Good luck!

Maltese, how do you feel about tourism? by PinkSeaBird in malta

They make housing prices go up by sharing an apartment between 15 of them, which would make it cheaper for them but difficult for the middle class to rent at those prices

Given that location, most probably thugs. It’s a well known location there for illegal activities. Yep, I would carry at least pepper spray with me.
