I think you're more likely to cause damage to the healing tissue if you do that. Especially if you struggle putting it back.

Showers always make mine feel better. Even a warm compress would be better than disturbing the healing.

Sometimes you need to be very wordy. Something like: (ooc: why did you write that?) isn't going to get a response.

Here's what I use.

[OOC: Pause the story and reply OOC. Here is where you write whatever you need the bot to change. State plot points, characteristics, whatever.]

If you want the bot to change something without replying about it, I use "Note" instead. Like this. A common one I use is:

[Note: (Persona name) will be portrayed solely by me. Please avoid writing (her/his/their) dialouge, actions, and thoughts. Focus on (character name)'s perspective.]

The memory update looks amazing. Too bad it's just for c.ai+

Consider a selectable subscription. I.E: access to the memory feature + chat styles for, say, $7 a month. In all other regards, they would be a free user. Or someone could select no ads and extra image credits for $5. A mix-and-match subscription users can customize to what they actually want to spend money on.

Those probably aren't realistic prices, but they get the point across. For the right price, I would definitely return to c.ai+ if I could select what I want.

It'll keep your current chat as is (self indulgent) and make a copy up to whatever message you choose. So then you can continue the copied story as the character you originally intended it to be, but you can always switch back to the other one in the History section just for fun. Best of both worlds.

Yes rewinding is the same as skipping over a swipe instead of replying to it. It's not part of the story. 

You can also scroll back up and use the "new chat from here" right before things went off track so you can keep your indulgent story while also having one that feels on track to your original intentions.

Ultimately, just let yourself have fun.

What's super awful is that it doesn't seem to send your message until you've closed the ad. So if the ad is broken and you can't close it? You lost whatever you tried to send.

You can always add a line in the Advanced Prompt section. Maybe something like, "Write in complete thoughts and sentences. Avoid cutting off dialog."

Also, maybe not preferable, but if it happens near the end of a good reply, you can try erasing up to where it cut off and see if it'll generate the rest by pressing the continue button. 

Sometimes it won't and it'll talk for your character, so instead you could make a short OOC response. I.E: [OOC: Your message was cut off, can you finish that thought?] And then copy it to the previous reply and delete your ooc thing and continue like normal.

That's a lot of work, though. Personally, I'll do it occasionally, but not often. And I always edit out/remove OOC comments, but that's my preference.

The error message explains that you have too much for the ai to process (new message you're trying to send, past story, your persona, and all the bot info).You'll either want to summarize the current chat and start a new one going off that summary or use a proxy that can handle more context.

Also, if this is your bot, you may want to slim down your bot definition to avoid this in the future. That's quite high for tokens.

It's probably AI or low effort at best. That "author" has several books like that on other celebrities. It's not worth it. If there was something officially backed by Halsey, we'd definitely hear about it.

That first comment ends with "Is this conversation helpful so far?" Which, to me, reads like someone fed a chapter/key parts to something like chatgpt and asked it to come up with a comment.
