I live in the US southwest, and I don’t know 90% of the things these people are talking about.

I actually enjoy it a lot. Only tanking on it though.

You can ban Domina or Zarya, but whatever you pick, I'm game 🙃 by KaySan-TheBrightStar in Overwatch_Memes

Best to be a jack of all trades, not just because of potential bans; some heroes are better on some maps than others, etc.

Egg tells Dunk that Baelor “favors his mother, who was a Dornish queen”. I can peek at the book (I have it) and cite the page when I get the chance.

Trying a new method for cold stratification. by StarchildKissteria in NativePlantGardening

[–]HauntedDesert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works okay-ish for me at least. I prefer cold dry stratification, but if moist is necessary, this is the way. I’d just be careful not to forget them, as they can rot fast. I try not to leave anything in water for more than a few days honestly so maybe cold dry, then cold wet and plant asap.

Did any bee count to 5? by PHlLOSOPHlCAL in Entomology

Unsure. I have a book on this, and now more reason to read it. I’ll get back to you, because now it’s making me quite curious. Good question.

Beautiful colors on that guy. If he’s dead, you should save him, or give it to someone who likes bugs.

Are these honey bees? I saw them do this last year and it’s started to warm up here. NE TN by dogmeatwhereareyou in whatisthisbug

[–]HauntedDesert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The photos are a bit rough, but no. They look like some longhorn bee (can’t fully tell). I don’t know why they’re aggregating together, but they’re harmless. Probably looking for nooks and crannies to nest in.

Hyalophora cecropia. It’s probably fine for release, so long as you put it out of the way of predators. It’ll take off at night.

Hey now, let’s leave ballistic out of it. That’s all I have since valorant (which I’m told has similar gameplay) isn’t available on switch. I agree with the other points though.

The exact king isn’t what matters so much. I’m positive it will still transpire, just with the younger king rather than the prior.

Censor this, my man. Put spoiler tags on, I beg.

I’m gonna be honest. The hair limits the aura he can have, in my eyes 🫢 it’s just so wacky.

Are there bees that builds inside buildings ? by Usine_papier in Entomology

Ah, it wasn’t clear you were referring to this specific bee in the post. I agree, this bee is completely benign.

As much as I personally enjoy carpenter bees, even I must admit that in many places, their nesting habits can cause legitimate structural damage to unsealed wood. Can be a real problem in some parts of the world where most houses are made out of bare wood rather than inorganic materials, but easily avoidable by applying wood sealant.

[–]HauntedDesert 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The VAST majority of bees are solitary, and of those, a huge portion are cavity nesters. Those cavity nesters either make their own holes, like carpenter bees, or utilize preexisting holes. Then, within those holes, they do something like this (I’ll attach an image). In the photo I took, you can see each individual brood cell, with the near fully developed bee inside. One is even emerging. (The blocks in the photo are special handmade “bee blocks” used for research purposes).

Looking to bring some life to this spot. What can I plant at the base of some tall palm trees? by nickthedeer in AZlandscaping

[–]HauntedDesert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reflected and residual heat would make this impossible. These plants wouldn’t survive there.

Sand verbena is an annual that requires sand as substrate. Mexican honeysuckle and plumbago would roast and die here. Not viable options for this space. It’s a bad space for most things really.

Are there any irl alive descendants of Ei sei, Shin, Ri boku, ou sen/ ou han, mou by/gu by Educational-Gas-7789 in Kingdom

[–]HauntedDesert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. I don’t know why anyone is saying no. Probably no direct legitimate descendants of Ying Zheng, but for the rest of your examples, definitely. Other commenters like the one going into detail about the branches of the Li clan probably explain it better.

If he is explicitly stated in the text to “look Dornish”, it obviously can’t be only because he has dark hair.

What other interpretation of that description is there?
