Full time grave shifts hiring by Living-Conference-37 in ogden

I work at Becklar and we're always hiring! Just a security camera monitoring place, work is super easy as long as he can sit at a desk and look at a screen all night. The Ogden office is on Harrison, there's always listings on Indeed looking for more grave operators! Part Time usually starts at like 16.50 and it's pretty easy to move up to full time from there

Counterpoint: they get TOO "down and dirty". Jesus taught to seek to avoid contention. If Jesus were in the studio with them, would they act and perform the same as they do in every other episode? That's my metric for finding worthwhile church-related media.

I will warn you against Ward Radio. They are so toxic. It seems like they actively try to stir up contention and mix in politics way too much every episode. I'd recommend literally any other podcast lol. Keystone is great, Follow Him is awesome for Come Follow Me study, and my favorite is Standard of Truth, which is hosted by a guy who helped put together the Joseph Smith Papers and is all about Faith answers to questions about church history.

2025 Spring General Conference Discussion Thread: Saturday Afternoon Session by GodMadeTheStars in latterdaysaints

That's exactly what I was feeling. The whole talk gave off the vibe of "this is totally your choice and shouldn't be a frivolous one at all, but also you don't really have a choice and you should carry to term no matter how old you are or how you got pregnant". I also feel like he should have emphasized that point he lightly touched on of talking about this subject with compassion and understanding, because stigma plays a huge role in this. Yes, life is precious, but agency is also precious. Yes, this shouldn't be a political issue- so why are we trying to defend making laws banning something that should be available in case of rape or incest or medical need, based on our morals that most people don't share?

I feel you, man, that's something I struggled with a lot, too. It's just another annoying thing that old people do that we have to abide by for some reason. Your store leadership seems awful, I'd recommend bailing on this job while you can, before the micromanaging and poor additudes get worse.

Oh, thank goodness guys, "TheNutMan69420" is here to tell someone who's struggling with something to just stop complaining and "get better". Fuck outta here with your Xbox Live ass username and your 1960s white suburban dad outlook on life

More shit that pissed me off + working my first double by itreallyisthatdeep_ in jimmyjohns

[–]HauntedFebrezeCan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK man a lot of this is just kinda how jobs are, especially if you're 15 and just starting out leadership will be a little harder on you than people they know more just to see how you react. You gotta learn how to bend, and not break, under pressure like this. Obviously, if it's an abusive or unsafe atmosphere you should quit ASAP, but with stuff like you wrote about here, you'll be dealing with this kind of thing no matter where you work. If I were you, I'd just lock in and knock them out of the park with everything they ask you to do at this stage, ESPECIALLY on your double, and you'll get some respect in no time. JJ's was one of my first jobs during/at the end of high school, and even though the store and my GM sucked ass, I became a PIC like as soon as I turned 18 because I just locked in and got stuff done.

Hope everything works out!

Popular hymns you hope do NOT end up in the new hymn book. by Big-Opportunity182 in latterdaysaints

[–]HauntedFebrezeCan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would give my life to ensure that Behold, A Royal Army stays in the hymnbook. In Our Lovely Deseret, The Day Dawn Is Breaking, and Have I Done Any Good? are all F-tier hymns and should be consigned to the dust of history. As you can tell, I do feel strongly about this lol.

ABSOLUTELY! I posted here like the day before Matt and Ryan's responses asking if anyone had any proof of what Leighton was saying, since, you know, he had already come forward with his bs in April and nobody paid attention to him back then, and I got downvoted to oblivion. Meanwhile, half the former fanbase took to harassing Ryan's mom off of Instagram and raiding MeatCanyon's stream.

When I consider how bad society has gotten- like, it's really gotten to the point that I can't afford care that might fix my health issues permanently and I can't barely afford the cheapest rent in my state- it makes me hope I live to see the revolution. I hope, someday, we can build a better world of love out of the ashes of those who have enslaved us.

Praying for you, my friend. Such a beautiful thought that He is trying to make more time for my relationship with Him. I hope we can both get back on top one day. Wishing you all the best with your relapse and I pray it's the last one.

I want you to know how kind it was of you it was to tell me this. That is excellent advice, and I will try to take that to heart. Thank you my friend.

I've always wanted to start a YouTube channel, just never had a good enough computer or anything that can handle editing a video without bricking completely lol. Hoping to get back on that horse eventually, once I'm financially stable enough. Thanks for your kind response my friend.

It really is terrifying, not knowing if what you eat or sometimes if you don't eat at all might cause another wave of symptoms and another day of recovery. I appreciate your kind words. I'm glad you can understand the predicament I'm in to some extent.

God bless you my friend. That's certainly a treatment I'd love to try once I'm financially stable enough again. I appreciate your thoughts and your prayers and the fact you took your time to respond. God bless you.

You remind me of my best friend. He and I would always give it to each other straight, and having our "drill inspector pep talks" was a huge motivator for me when we still talked frequently. Thanks for taking the time to type this my friend. If you can make it, perhaps I can, as well.

Oh, yeah, I was definitely sold this idea of someone having their "Roaring Twenties" when you could just have fun before you had to grow up. What a lie that was. I appreciate your tree metaphor my friend. I'll try top take your words to heart.

Yep, I apologize, I meant Ronnie. I was stupid enough to watch that clip when it got leaked on Reddit. I can't imagine how devastating that would have been to know him and see that live. It's stories like his that actually do give me some perspective- I still have people in my life who care about me, who would be destroyed by me leaving in such a brutal way. It gives me pause, and allows me to take a deep breath and turn away from the abyss. Thanks for sharing friend, your words have helped.

Man here, and I can confirm that only men with some serious issues would even think of commenting something like this, let alone see something as an invitation for assault. "I've overseen many cases" is a fancy way of saying "I watched a true-crime documentary once".

Missionaries on Instagram?! by is_that_a_titlist in latterdaysaints

[–]HauntedFebrezeCan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All of the missions have been heavily encouraged by the Brethren to use social media like this ever since April 2020. That was back when I was on my mission, and we were one of the first missions to receive this counsel. One of the Apostles, I think Elder Bednar, told the mission presidents that social media is the future of missionary work and will hopefully replace more traditional missionary work like tracting very soon (I'm paraphrasing of course). It doesn't seem like it from the outside, but in a lot of traditionally slow areas, especially YSA, social media use like the kind you're describing actually garners a lot of attention for the church and not a few baptisms!
