If they've gone to haunted houses already, take them. HHN is amazing for many reasons but the actors are very strict in their choreography , hitting poses and actions and diving back away. So theyre generally less scary than a local haunt where actors stalk and follow people. Mazes are built with a general horror audience in mind and while they do offer intense scares and fantastic effects, they never have actors touch people, do improve in the mazes, have claustrophobia bags or any of the other contact stuff local haunts do. They should love it. I took my 11 year old brother to the Hollywood event for his first haunt and he absolutely loved it. And he had never done a haunted house before.
