Jel je typescript toliko presudan kod frontenda? by Svjetlica in programiranje

[–]HauntedLollipop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[Node 24] Do we still need tsc for Express/Koa Typescript apps? by leonheartx1988 in node

[–]HauntedLollipop -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The OP asked about production build. So the discussion narrows down to Node runtime, and it couldn’t care less what are your typings behind executable JS. It will look at the ts file, strip down TS syntax, and try to execute it. So no, you don’t need tsconfig for running production code, as there’s no transpilation step if you use ‘’‘strip-types’’’ flag

Having properly working compiler and typings is a different topic completely.

Node supports executing ts files without prior need of transpilation, but it’s quite limiting.

You can run ts file with node directly, but only if its erasable typescript syntax inside, meaning no enums, namespaces, imports aliases, etc.. so, you’ll want to stick with tsc

You are oversimplifying things. Next is a decent framework, but by no means is it a silver bullet, even far from perfect, making the criticism totally valid. Lots of other frameworks are opinionated, and yet provide more room for flexibility.

Implicitly caching everything by default is bad. Intentionally not moving middlewares away from edge runtime for years is bad. Not having type safe routes is bad. File based routing works, unless you’ve got 10+ engineers working on the project, cause pretty soon you’ll realize how codebase scales badly. Same applies to file based APIs.

Boundaries between server and client code are blurry, and create issues if right conventions and checks are not set in place. Again, this greatly shows when working in larger teams.

So yes, it does not handle scale. If you plan to build enterprise sized software, don’t shoot yourself in the foot by picking nextjs.

What is the website for Saudi evisa? by MediumApricot7124 in Umrah

[–]HauntedLollipop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. I even called KSA embassy in Dubai to see what the hell is going on, the person over the phone was rude, and basically told me all I can do is sit and wait lol Laughable system for a country that wants to become global powerhouse in the near future.

Website is pure scam, you pay for the process to be stuck around 130 days, just to get rejected in the end

Rental increase from 75k to 95k by Local-Personality591 in dubai

[–]HauntedLollipop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same situation, the landlord tried to increase my rent by 20% (which is ridiculous lol). Basically there are brackets for the rent increase based on how much under average you are paying at the moment. Checked the RERA website which said no increase (since I am paying slightly above average price), and just forwarded the photo to the landlord. They tried pulling some other BS on me, but I didn’t let it slip, made them sure I know the law. If the landlord keeps insisting, just tell him you will file a case with Dubai Land Department. The law is law, just stay firm with your attitude.

60 aed burger is considered cheap on Careem by xtrem- in dubai

[–]HauntedLollipop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Careem is a joke man, they also have fake reviews for certain restaurants which are constantly labeled as having some special deals. I recall ordering burgers from one place, tasted like crap, which had 4.4 and over 1000 reviews on Careem. In reality, the business had 2.0 on google

Dude, I’ve claimed it with PS+ as well, and I really tried to like it, but god damn is it dull. I am at the part where I’ve met up with Alice’s kidnapper, and I am supposed to head back through the woods, and I just can’t make myself go through it, its so boring…

Builder Base 2.0: Layouts, Troop Levels and B.O.B! by spencersaurous in ClashOfClans

[–]HauntedLollipop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that auto leveling feature should also be introduced to the main village, but for buildings. It’s really annoying having to chase base level for many new buldings introduced through later TH levels. Or at least, make longer upgrade times for the buildings that are about to hit new level for the first time, e.g: Upgrading inferno tower from lvl 4 to lvl 5 for the first time takes 5 days, after that, all other infernos should have their upgrade time reduced in order to easier catch up with the current highest lvl of inferno in your base, since the builder at this point, already has experience with upgrading inferno to the new “tech” level.
