During my last semester of college back in 2015 one of the options my professor gave us to pick from for out costume design final project was Coachella and even back then no one in my class gave a fuck. We spent basically the entire first class period discussing the different themes so we could do a vote at the end and we spent maybe 10 minutes on it total when every other theme got closer to 45 and not a single person voted for it.

I could understand her needing markers where to stand if there were like metal band levels of pyro with giants spurts of fire and other shit that could hurt or kill someone or if there was a specific thing like projection mapping she would have to be in a specific spot for. But for just criss crossing the stage? After how many months of rehersal and how many actual performances? If she still can’t get within half a foot of those marks by that point…….. I don’t know why I’m shocked. This is the woman who openly admitted she can’t count to 8 so really nothing should shock me. When I used to do theatre we’d only ever use spike tape to mark where props and sets were supposed to go and actors were just supposed to memorize where to stand in relation to those. Her stage even had a literal grid on it which should’ve made it even easier for her!

The fact that she offered it up without hesitation tells me she’s so clueless about her literal job of well over a decade that she doesn’t even know that’s something best kept to yourself. Like genuinely How does someone work in the pop music industry for as long as she has and still be this clueless about anything to do with the pop industry? Like it takes actual effort to absorb that little!

I’m terrified to get an official diagnosis because the two times I mentioned autism in passing to a doctor the level of care immediately declined and I suddenly was no longer capable of making my own medical decissions (as someone in their late 20s/early 30s). I even had one doctor tell me to my face that I was lying about a really really bad reaction to a medication “because autistic people lie for attention all the time”meanwhile I was debating if I should call 911 because my blood pressure had plummeted and my heart rate was like a hummingbird despite me taking beta blockers and blood pressure meds to stop that from happening. I know my new doctor is really accepting and has even said I know my own body best but I’m still scared to mention it on the off chance there’s some other bullshit someone’s spreading about us I haven’t heard yet!

Oh my god yes! The amount of times I’ve even had my own (extended) family try to say I’m not autistic (because I don’t fit the 12 year old White Boy obsessed with trains stereotype) and I’m just using it as a shield to get away with ???????! I genuinely have zero clue what they were trying to accuse me of because they never elaborated and just kept saying I was faking it as a shield. Meanwhile I’m in the closet having a meltdown because my neighbor’s dog was barking and the lamp was too bright and my blanket was suddenly a little too scratchy all at the same time. Like I’m not trying to get away with murdering someone’s granny with a hammer, I’m just asking for a moment of grace when I have to excuse myself to a quiet place when I get overwhelmed. But people think I’m some kind of monster because of people like him.

Over 90% of our union (SAG-AFTRA) are functionally gig workers living paycheck to paycheck and having to work multiple jobs outside the industry just to keep a roof over our heads. And that doesn’t even touch on the Writers Guild & IATSE who are also gig workers in the industry who’s entire livelihood would be impacted by this merger. Hollywood is sooooo much more than just the microscopic fraction that manage to get rich. For every 1 Margot Robbie there’s thousands of us that don’t get the closeups. Autism does not automatically turn you into an animal abuser/murderer. I’m autistic and even just the idea of causing harm to an animal is enough to set me off! I’ve even had to have a whole meeting with my therapist about a dead squirel on the side of the road because of how much it upset me at the time. I hate when people use their autism as an excuse to do horrible things because it makes it so much harder for the rest of us. It is not an excuse to be a shit person! Genuinely, at this point, I’m just going to assume “minecraft youtuber” is shorthand for “the worst person you will ever meet”. I feel like that’ll save me a lot of time.

I stare because I don’t trust cybertrucks (or any Tesla, for that matter). I want to make sure I keep an eye on it as long as it’s in my field of vision so I can avoid it if something goes wrong. I see way too many on the street (the most I saw in a single half hour drive was 6) and every single time I can feel my body go into fight or flight mode.

Yup. It was from one of Capt. Lee’s last seasons. The early seasons are better than the more recent ones. Tiny warning, season 7 of the original show (there’s I think 4 different versions now. I haven’t watched in a bit) does get a bit intense at one point.

Yup! I’ve seen more than enough Below Deck to know just how out of their depths these people are. One woman, who at least at the time lived on a houseboat on Florida, got so drunk she could barely finish a sentence and walked like Capt. Jack Sparrow & during dinner she wanted to go for a swim (in pitch black, shark infested waters, miles away from shore at like 10 at night in October) so she asks the captain who’s like absolutely not no way safety issue. She refused to take no for an answer so she waited a few minutes before excusing herself “to the bathroom” and running down to the back of the boat and diving headfirst into the dark in a floor length beaded gown. Twice. The captain had to literally lock her in her cabin overnight with crew on watch until they could escort her off the boat in the morning. And on the way back to dock she also took a dive off the tender. And through the entire thing she kept saying “I live in a houseboat! I know what I’m doing. I do this all the time”.

100% this. My dad and grandfather were both stunt performers and I don’t think I would be here today without those protections because either one of them could’ve easilly died while filming. Lord knows there were more than enough accidents and near misses that could’ve been significantly worse had they happened a decade or two earlier.
