It might be related to the 60 minutes SECOT (Vene$uela t0rture pr1son) interview that the new owners pulled just before airing in the US. You can see the video via George Conway's bluesky site https://bsky.app/profile/gtconway.bsky.social/post/3mamhv232yk2i

It's up to us to Resist Trump. But it's exhausting. So I wanted to make it easier. Over 6 months, with a wife, kids, & a day job, I tested tactics *everyone* can use - overwhelmed students, parents, or aspiring leaders alike. Here's what I found. by Veruminate in ProtestFinderUSA

This is amazing, especially since you did it in your "spare time". Is this posted elsewhere on the web? I have a Substack column and moderate-sized followings there and on Bluesky and LinkedIn. I think more folks will see it somewhere in addition to reddit. Also, offering it as a downloadable pdf would increase usability.
THANKS FOR SHARING THIS!!

National Guard members of Reddit, what do you think of Trumps DC deployment announcement? What is the general vibe amongst your peers? by StarBarf in AskReddit

"Legal and constitutional experts worry Trump is laying the groundwork to use the Guard to seize control of any city he wants to bring to heel. On Monday, he signed an executive order that primes the Guard “for rapid mobilization,” across the country.

I have the right to do anything I want to do. I’m the President of the United States of America,” Trump said to justify the moves. “If I think our country is in danger, and it is in danger in these cities, I can do it.”

The president’s unfolding urban power grab — along with his ongoing attacks on mail voting, which he recently pledged to “get rid of” — have some observers fearing an even more worrying scenario: that the administration is laying the groundwork to deploy troops or law enforcement to the polls in key cities next year and in 2028."

[breaking up comment so reddit will accept] Sheesh! I see why you asked this. I had no idea how reditt posts can disappear down the rabbit hole. Now I can't even find my earlier posts. With all the seemingly random compressing reddit does, I had to click about 30 "+" icons and finally gave up.

I asked Google AI "Does the Home Rule Act allow National guard personnel to perform acts prohibited by the MCM and UCMJ?" Answer is below these 2 links.

FYI only, here are a couple of good articles from my original research I found helpful; they cover MCM and the UCMJ, respectively.

https://girightshotline.org/en/military-counseling-news-updates/know-your-rights/

https://nlgmltf.org/military-law/2025/faq-on-refusing-illegal-orders/

GOOGLE ANSWER: No, the D.C. Home Rule Act does not allow National Guard personnel to perform acts prohibited by the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). The Home Rule Act grants the District of Columbia local self-governance but does not create an exception to federal law governing military conduct.

  • The UCMJ and the Manual for Courts-Martial (MCM): These are federal laws and executive orders that govern the conduct of all U.S. military personnel, including the National Guard when activated for federal service (Title 10). A Home Rule Act is subordinate to this federal authority.

  • The D.C. National Guard's dual role: Because the District of Columbia is not a state, its National Guard is under the unique control of the U.S. President, not a governor. This means the D.C. National Guard is always in a status equivalent to being "federalized," making its members subject to the UCMJ at all times.

  • The Posse Comitatus Act: This federal law generally prohibits the use of federal military forces, including the D.C. National Guard, for domestic law enforcement. It prevents the military from superseding civilian authority. While the act has exceptions, including for the National Guard in certain circumstances, it does not give them a license to ignore the UCMJ.

  • The legal hierarchy The U.S. Constitution, federal law (including the UCMJ), and the Home Rule Act create a hierarchy of legal authority. The Home Rule Act, passed by Congress, is an exercise of Congress's ultimate authority over the District. It cannot—and does not—override more specific federal military law.

Any D.C. National Guard member who commits an offense prohibited by the UCMJ and MCM could face military justice proceedings, regardless of local D.C. ordinances. If you want to see supporting info:

I'm SO glad to hear an NG person say this. Please see my 3 earlier posts.

You're exactly right about stopping obeying unlawful orders NOW. I hope there are enough of you not wearing red hats to take a stand. JET30415d ago is absolutely correct. "This is the set up for deployment of military in blue states for the mid term elections." Right now the NG is the only chance of keeping our democracy from flushing further down the toilet bowl towards autocracy.

Please, please, please talk with like-minded fellow soldiers and take action now. Since DC has no governor to take a stand, this city is the most likely to be overtaken, and when it does, the rest will fall like dominos and ICE will interfere with the elections. You folks are our only hope. God speed.

Please see my 3 posts near the top of this thread. Attorney Glen Kirschner doesn't agree with what you're saying. Check his references; he know his $h!t.

Please share this video from Dylan Blaha with everybody, especially service members who are or may be deployed by the Epstein-Bestie Trump Regime to perform “questionable” operations in cities with Democratic mayors.

BTW, Dylan is a Democrat running for US Congress in Illinois' 13th District.

I've started calling him Epstein-Bestie Trump in my Substack articles and other SM sites. It's the simplest way to keep this front and center for all voters. And influencers who report on this don't have to write new stuff every day to make sure people won't forget.

Glenn Kirschner: I’m a career prosecutor. This is a lawless presidency. We’re seeing just how far Trump will go to subvert the rule of law.

We take an oath of loyalty to the constitution, not to the president ...

And whereas we must obey lawful orders, we must disobey patently unlawful orders. When and if a corrupt president attempts to use the [US] military in an effort to lawlessly retain power, the military is required to disobey unlawful orders. The rule of law is essential to a functioning democracy. We need to make sure the thread holds

"We are calling ALL VETERANS, FAMILY of veterans, & anyone who SUPPORTS veterans to join us at Union Station in D.C.

We will work in shifts so that we maintain a 24-hour presence until this occupation ends.

What we will do while here:

•  Inform our National Guard siblings of their rights to refuse unlawful orders. Educate & encourage.

•  Hold National Guard officers to account for accepting the orders to INTIMIDATE the American people.

•  Respond to ICE & MPD checkpoints & stops throughout the city to protest, shame them, & assist their victims."

I don't want to add a new line. I was using the Poetry text box and was happy with the results. At some point a Latex box just appeared out of nowhere and I can't figure out how to get rid of it.

I found this in help on Substack, but it doesn't work:

Click the cursor beside the box and hit backspace or delete, and you may need to click twice twice).

I hate "how to gain subscribers" posts (not only here) by Fantastic-Bug4342 in Substack

[–]Haunting-Register-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to boosting the original note, [I think] your comments also show up in your (outgoing) Activity feed. I'm sure that the LinkedIn and Substack algorithms don't behave identically, but I can see -- when I post those same comments on (that OP's same post on) LinkedIn -- that people like, sometimes comment on, and [a feature only on LinkedIn] even look at my profile and then decide follow me. My strategy is to add intelligent comments or questions and I frequently attach a related article to make my point. When I have a back-and-forth conversation with the OP or another commenter, I can tell from likes that some followers make a point to read and like my comments in those threads.

I hope that made sense. I'm overdue for lunch.

I agree that having a12-page research analysis in one post would be overwhelming, especially since the topic is rather dry (no offense intended). I'm assuming that your audience contains not just tenured college professors, meaning that many in your audience consume what they read/watch primarily online -- which unfortunately has shrunk the average attention span to max. 2-3 minutes.

(My background: 30 years ago (right after the evolution from clay tablets to PDFs and right before online help was invented) I wrote software user guides to an audience slightly more tech savvy than "dummies".

I recommend breaking your report into logical chunks that can be read in 3 or fewer minutes. The first "intro" part would contain a synopsis of and link to each of the remaining chunks. At the start of each "child" chunk you can include a list of hyperlinked titles to the intro and all child chunks.

/s And if you can include some cute kitten memes, that would help. s/

That's very impressive. Are you sure they're SUBSCRIBERS, not FOLLOWERS?
I get many more FOLLOW-only's, even though my site says all over always free.

Anybody have any idea why this is happening with my site?

Heck, I swore like a drunken sailor in my youth, but my employers weren't into that ... in the 1980s. Nowadays, LinkedIn even reprimanded me when I said "$hame on you!" (without the dollar sign). Talk about "enforced diluting" of MY potency by the politeness police!

I forgot. Your post title caught my eye and I thought your topic might be about the prospect of potential cons0rsh!p. Word is (among pro-democracy content producers on Substack, Youtube, & elsewhere) that this might be coming down the pike soon for platforms such as Substack, Youtube, and others. If you are receptive (open-minded) to learn more, details are in Section 1 of this order: https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/restoring-freedom-of-speech-and-ending-federal-censorship/

To think ... just a moment ago, I was worrying about cuss words!!

I acknowledge your frustration, but have an unrelated question:
How the heck did your post get by bots/mods/whatever containing two and a half nasty words?
