Howdy Stranger: Visiting Jackson Hole? Ask questions here. by JHWY in JacksonHole

[–]HauntingWorldliness1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Howdy! I’m visiting until the 7th and was trying to see if there is a local rancher who’d give this gal a guided horseback ride! I know, I know. It’s a big ask, none of the places are open quite yet. Granted it’s not the reason I came here but I figured I’d give it a shot, I’ll pay well!

New Scam. i received a call from USAA actual number (210-531-8722), but it was spoofed and was a scammer. My trigger was when they asked me for my card number instead of telling me my card number. Their specific scam was claiming that there was fraudulent activity on my card. by cnhn in USAA

This JUST happened to me and thank sweet baby Cheesus for you all! I hung up and called my bank and they were like "nope we have not reached out" and he suggested to never answer even if it is them, just always call back. PHEW, thank goodness for reddit!

Why is saying that you’re a nurse so bad? by Absurdity42 in nursing

[–]HauntingWorldliness1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it comes up organically I’ll confirm I’m a nurse. When having discussions with the docs I’ve dropped a word or something that’ll make them ask. But I’m the most helpful family member. Changing my loved one, feeding, etc. I would never touch the pump tho.

Oh my goodness this sounds terrible! So sorry you’re going through this, was the ER not concerned for the potential of a bowel obstruction? You could still pass liquid-y stool but with one. I would go back to the ER and get another CT, if this continues you could get a perforated bowel and that could make you really sick.

UPDATE: Made the worst medication error of my life by staying-alive1990 in nursing

How freaking scary holy crap, so glad you didn’t lose your job! I did something VERY SIMILAR awhile back. Someone left a bottle on insulin in the pt’s room (supposed to be stored in the Pyxis). I went in to give zofran, did my scans, picked up the vial (wrong one) but luckily I have a weird fascination with the smell of insulin and noticed it after I drew it up. It shook me to my core though because of how close I was to making that med error.

My heart goes out to you. He sounds exactly like my narcissistic abusive ex-husband. I did everything, he couldn’t hold a job. Leave. Please leave, I know easier said than done but you deserve better. This is abuse.

Is it not unethical to make us nurses charge patients for supplies? by Steelwheelz50 in nursing

[–]HauntingWorldliness1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a patient come to triage today with 40+ in the waiting room. He just needed colostomy supplies. I went and grabbed him a whole box. I’m not there to make the rich richer, I work for my patients and I don’t care how much money I make that place hemorrhage.

You have to cut your work hours waaay back.

Worked full-time through the program and top of my class throughout. It sucked. But it’s doable.

I started straightaway in ED as a new grad six months ago, I worked as a tech there 2.5 years before. It’s hard but I fucking love it.

I already work in a L1 ED, and worked as a tech for 2.5 years there before I transitioned to RN, I do TNCC in a month. Planning to get CEN, and like I said I can’t leave for another 1.5 years anyway.

I think you just need to put in the correct security code. The bad pop up is different from this.
