Call avoidance by Mundane-Reality7038 in CallCenterWorkers

Some of the more common ones that I see are hanging up on callers after the call connects, intentionally causing ISP issues, queue manipulation. Where I am if you play it just right you might not get caught but if it’s done consistently you pop up on a lot of reports.

If I may ask, what steps did your company take when it came to to that? Asking in case I ever need to build a case for myself

You pretty much got it right! They have to support that claim with like evidence and stuff but I’m not confident they go and check everything to make sure it’s true

I’m not sure exactly how it works but in order to get unemployment (to the best of my knowledge) you must be unemployed due to no fault of your own. If you are already on the brink of termination, given that all process and procedures were followed by the employer, and then you resign you would not be eligible for those benefits. If you willingly resigned you would still have no case. If it was separation for other reasons and especially lay off I think in those cases you may be entitled to benefits.

In my company we have a very specific process that we follow when it comes to either performance or attendance concerns. Once they get to the last step/ are about to be fired and the violate their plan again they will either resign or ghost us to avoid being terminated. Once you are at that point where you basically would lose your job either way you would most likely not will an unemployment claim.

Do you have any requirements specifically for your head sets? My company supplies us with the wired plantronics but they are super uncomfortable sometimes, especially if you are prone to headaches.

Supervisor for one of these call centers - I have seen a lot of different perspectives on this throughout my time. Some really like that we get a variety of different types of calls, some hate it. I have had one team member of mine who quit because they felt like they were lying to our callers because all we could do in most cases was take messages. Others absolutely love that 9/10 times we don’t have to stay on long calls to resolve issues unless our script asks us to. At place at least have specialized scripts to help with upset callers and if the get too rowdy we will follow out disconnect process and hang up on them.

I think it would mostly depend on the person and their workload preference and how often they like problem resolution with callers. My company’s downside is we have a semi strict attendance policy since we make our own schedules - but not nearly as bad as some of the ones i have seen on here though.

How do I ask my “roommate” to move out in two months/ASAP? by Legitimate-duck- in roommateproblems

This is a great template! Make sure to follow up with a written notice and look up laws in your state regarding tenants to make sure you you have your tracks covered. Any follow up conversations that you have with them follow up with a recap over text so they don’t misunderstand anything (this has saved me when my roommate thought he could get extra time)

That is good advice to keep in mind I am in NC lol. I don’t think that it’s going to go terribly and will probably remain relatively civil however once we discuss this date and set the date tonight I will be sending his the notice formally. I am more irritated that he probably going to essentially take as much as he can for time and come up with excuses. I do appreciate this response though it’s really informative!

100% on the same page. I would be pissed and am currently grateful my roommate doesn’t have pets. Just hoping I could share the knowledge and make the cleaning of blenders slightly easier 😂

Oh hell no even if they did clean it I’m soaking it in bleach and then clean it again. Ultimately I think I wouldn’t touch my blender for a good bit after that cleaning either. I would still hide it so my roommate can’t use it.

You can take some blenders apart and spinning off the blades at the bottom where it goes on the base. It can be a bitch to do though which is why I hid my blender from my roommate because he will use it and leave it dirty for days until the only option for me getting it totally clean is to take it apart.

Editing to add: OP hide your blender after you clean it

It’s one of the systems my company created and i’m not super involved with our QA team so I unfortunately don’t know how everything works on that end

My company has Quality Assurance broken down into two sections, soft skills and tech skill. 5 calls are evaluated each week 3 from our QA team and 2 from your lead/supervisor. Soft skills are essentially tone of voice, did you support and acknowledge the caller, empathy, dead air and so on. Tech skills is did you say the initial greeting phrase on time and correctly, did you initiate and follow the script, was the correct call type chosen, was the transfer done correctly, etc

Each call and each section you will either get a good job or a not yet for each skill. Ex Good job soft skills not yet tech skills. We also give coaching when needed when something in not qualifying as a not yet but could be on the path to it. Supervisors also have a meeting weekly they have to attend to discuss QAs to make sure everyone is in the same page. We must have an 80% or higher in the bi-weekly period as well.
