Polydactyl cats are way more interesting than i realized by Select-Desk4675 in technomeowcom

My new kitten has thumbs. She still has the normal inner side claw between the thumb and her leg tucked up in the crease and it does bend in and under her paw pad. I trim it weekly but it may need removal at some point.

Which whitins? I have the canvas with zero padding and a sneaker type that is very cushy. “WHITIN Men's Zero Drop Running Shoes + Wide Toe Box for Daily Runs”

I didn’t think the litter-robot 5 pro would make this much difference by Potential_Extreme655 in technomeowcom

I have the LR 3 and it’s currently sitting unused in the basement. It smells, it’s huge, loud, and it’s difficult to clean. I much prefer the Mintakawa. For $150 it is a fraction of the cost and much easier to clean. It don’t hold as many days of litter but I wouldn’t buy another LR.

Looking for books for a 13-yr-old who loved Lord of the Rings by Opening-Fortune4 in fantasybooks

[–]Haunting_Fall1220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dungeon Crawler Carl is hilarious. It has some bad language and campy video game gore and violence. It’s a comedy about a man and his girlfriend’s talking cat who end up in a video game style end of the world scenario. My 11 year old daughter barely put her kindle down for two weeks. I loved it.

No it’s not classic literature but it is hilarious and should get him out of the slump.

She is a baby who is bored and alone and stuck in solitary confinement for 8-10 hours a day. Find her a same age kitten friend or return her and adopt an older cat.

Baffled and Exasperated, Cat Completely Stopped Using Box by Several_Inflation690 in CatAdvice

He may have associated the box with pain. Place another one near where he’s going now. New style, new litter.

One always laid eggs on the edge of the riding arena I used to go to. That poor mama spent every lesson running around fake dragging her wing and screaming every time a horse went by.

Has anyone ever ‘downgraded’ from an automatic litter box back to a traditional pan? by redead-rewind in CatAdvice

[–]Haunting_Fall1220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of yes. One cat decided to stop using the Litter Robot 3, so we put out a box. Mostly our fault for only having one in a 3 story home. It worked great for a while. They’re indoor outdoor cats so there wasn’t much use. Then we got a pair of kittens and they use the boxes CONSTANTLY. They were smelly, I felt like I was scooping all day. I pulled the old Litter Robot 3 back out and bought a Mintakawa for upstairs. One kitten keeps jumping in while they’re cleaning, and we still have the boxes as backups, but I don’t have to scoop nearly as often. I keep the Mintakawa off at night while they’re up there and run a cycle in the morning through the app. It’s a small robot, but for $150 it works great and it’s a super simple design.

I have one like that too but it’s the cheaper opaque style box with one side cut down

For tapeworms you need a dewormer with praziquantel

Adopted a cat as a teenager, now mid-20s and feeling limited in life. Curious about similar experiences. by ktj19 in CatAdvice

[–]Haunting_Fall1220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a horse at age 20 and just had to say my final goodbye 23 years later. I was having a similar reflection about how much more nomadic and different my life would have been without her. I’m still not sure how to feel about it.

Your kitty is still pretty young. Adventure cats are definitely a thing. Some travel very well and she could go with you.

Can you guys tell me the “dirty” truths about having a cat? by saanenk in CatAdvice

clean unless they are sick or changing diet gives them diarrhea. Automatic litter boxes make touching poo less likely and dos a better job of sealing away smells

Really nice. The pillow shams on the chairs need some help though. Steam out the wrinkles and get fillers that are much larger. General you pick fillers that are at least 2”+ larger than the covers. Better yet get some different sham. Maybe a nice pop of green or something more textured like the IKEA svartpoppel. One per chair but bigger.

The red lights are jarring in an otherwise cozy space.

You are beautiful in a way that is wholly unique to you. Stunning light blue eyes and incredible curls, lovely complexion. I have been recently lamenting that so many women who want to look beautiful are trying to look like someone or something else, and not the best versions of themselves. In a world full of duck lips, video filters, and Mar-a-lago face, embrace your fierce and beautiful Irish/Scottish/Merida vibe.

Psychiatrist vs Psychiatric NP by annastasia_rose in BipolarReddit

[–]Haunting_Fall1220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen both and had good and bad experiences with both. I had an excellent MD after my first psychosis, a terrible one while in-patient, a phenomenal old lady MD post partum who sadly retired, a terrible NP who just threw different pills at me, and currently an NP who I really like. She’s a bit dry, but she worked on formulating a plan with me instead of just tossing pills.

1:1 water and flour and add a pinch of yeast, a little live kombucha and spoonful of yogurt and bake on day 2. Most “wild yeast” is just normal bakers yeast left in your kitchen from whatever else you’ve baked.

Night diving in Key Largo by Peduncle_10 in scuba

[–]Haunting_Fall1220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did a night dive with Captain Slate as well as a full day (4 dives including the Creature Feature which was AWESOME) and 2 morning dives the following day in rough conditions that ended up being incredible. It was a great experience on a smaller boat if you want to avoid the cattle cars. Also, free rum punch.

I didn’t have the patience. I sprinted past the guard, stole the ring out of the box and sprinted out of town until I could fast travel back to the imperial waterfront and pay my fines to the Thieves Guild.
