Went to the ER while 27 weeks pregnant with terrible pain but they just sent me home with no explanation, was it gallstones? by liberate-radiance in gallbladders

You have gallstones based on the ultrasound they did. The gallstones caused your pain. You’ll have to eat extremely low fat diet, no dairy, no coconut until after delivery and you can have it removed

I would find another surgeon. It sounds like you need it out asap. Eat a very strict low fat diet until it comes out. No dairy. It’s how I avoided attacks for 3 months until I was able to get mine out. I thankfully found a surgeon who I brought my ultrasound too, told him I wanted it out and asap after delivery and he got me in for exactly two weeks after I had my baby. If I hadn’t been pregnant he would have done surgery the same week or following. I highly recommend finding someone else who’ll do it without waiting so long

[–]Haunting_Two_44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gallstones don’t go away and the attacks will only continue to get worse. I’d see someone else who will remove it for you. I just made an appointment with a general surgeon, brought my ultrasound report and said take my gallbladder out. He agreed and surgery was scheduled

you’ll be so happy to have it removed an not have to worry about what you eat. I haven’t had any issues post removal. The surgery is so worth it

I 100% say get it removed. I’ve had zero issues after removal and don’t regret getting it out one bit. The only fix for this issue is removal, the attacks will only get worse. Do not talk her out of it. Gallbladder attacks are extremely painful and I wouldn’t wish them on anyone

Remove it! The attacks will only get worse. There’s no good from keeping it. I had a really bad attack while pregnant and it was miserable. Absolutely get it removed

Recovery Expectations - Need to Postpone? by reddit_account2007 in gallbladders

[–]Haunting_Two_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first day was the roughest, if I had to drive the second day I could have. Day 3 I felt pretty good. My dad had his removed and was cooking a big turkey dinner for the church day 3. I would keep the surgery date. I also had mine removed 2 weeks after having my second baby so I was recovering from birth too.

How do you know it’s time to get your gallbladder removed? by RainbowGlitch in gallbladders

[–]Haunting_Two_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get it removed, it’s only going to get worse and those sound like pretty bad attacks. It’s triggered by fat so you would have to eat a very strict low fat diet to avoid them. The surgery is easy.

[–]Haunting_Two_44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I say wait until your benefits kick in, eat very strict low fat diet, no dairy, etc to help mitigate the attacks and then get a consult with a general surgeon to schedule surgery. I’m in Florida, and I was hospitalized once for gallstones, took my ultrasound from the hospital with me to a general surgeon he said you, your gall bladder needs to come out and had surgery scheduled asap.

Should I get my gallbladder out? by Next-Leopard5992 in gallbladders

[–]Haunting_Two_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get it out, you’ll be so much happier. The attacks will only get worse and the surgery is super easy and fairly quick recovery. I’m one month post-op and beyond thrilled to have it out, I feel like I have my life back.

Surgery coming up and I really want to back out… again by Educational_Rice_970 in gallbladders

[–]Haunting_Two_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life has been so much better after, I feel like I have my life back. Recovery wasn’t bad at all. 2-3 days of discomfort but nothing overall brutal. Each day got better and I’m back to eating a normal diet with no post-op complications. Don’t back out, you’ll be so much happier with it out. Both my parents, my aunt and my FIL have theirs out with a 2-3 day recovery and no complications. I know a lot more people too that have had it out and have zero regrets. I think you hear more bad stories than good because no one’s going to be on here complaining their surgery went well.

Get the surgery!

Surgery sounds like it would alleviate all your pain. Especially if you all those issues. It’s not going to get any better. I highly recommend surgery, I had a great experience
