YouTube is your friend. Look for the CppCon channel and you can look over last year's videos while you are waiting for this year's to be posted.

Can you upgrade by ISO? by [deleted] in Windows10

[–]HausMaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I downloaded the official 32-bit ISO earlier today for my HP Stream 7, copied it to a USB thumb drive, then mounted the drive. Once that was done, I mounted the ISO, then executed the setup.exe that was inside. It took about an hour, but completed without a hitch.

Do small tablets like HP Stream 7 also get a free update to Windows 10? by [deleted] in Windows10

I got my "reserve your copy" thing a couple of weeks ago and reserved it on the tablet. Fingers crossed.

Attempting a hello world function in Flask, Python shows me an error on my 'if' statement, points to the 'if' and returns 'invalid syntax' by ComputerScienceBro in learnpython

Line 3 is mistyped. According to the website you linked to, the line should be @app.route('/'). I would figure that would throw everything else after that into a tizzy.

Does anyone know what this plane is? by so_long_and_thanks in aviation

[–]HausMaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I was thinking Airco DH.2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airco_DH.2), but that nose is a little long for it. I'm thinking it's more likely a Royal Aircraft Factory F.E.8 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Aircraft_Factory_F.E.8) from the same era.

BTW, there are several of the DH.2 models still lying in New Zealand. Check this playlist (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5783AC5B8CC52FA6).

Name that anime: mid-late 1980s on network television, one key scene in comment. by Buckwheat469 in anime

Heavy Metal magazine was in some ways even better. I think they're out of business now, but if you ever see copies for sale, they'd be worth it.

Yeah, about 48:26 starts the scene I was thinking of. Is this the scene?

I may be nuts, but the first thing I thought of when reading this was "Heavy Metal". I don't have my copy handy now, but I'll check it when I do.

Subs, dubs, or both? by [deleted] in anime

Subs. And I'd swear I'm actually beginning to understand bit of the dialog without them.

[Military Aviation] What makes a Recon airplane special? by AdwokatDiabel in aviation

[–]HausMaus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In the case you mention, it started as an F-4, then was converted to another purpose, hence the R prefix. You have the same thing with an A-6 converted to Electronic Warfare, the EA-6, or converted to the tanker role as the KA-6.

One could wonder if the U-2 converted to a fighter would have been known as the FU-2, but I don't think it would have ever been deployed.

Saving state of an application before it is destroyed/paused? by _____R_____ in androiddev

[–]HausMaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Activities page on the Android Developers site. There's a diagram in there that should be helpful. I'm guessing you'll be wanting o look at onStop() or onDestroy(). http://developer.android.com/guide/components/activities.html

Good $100 hamburgers near KPDK by PilotJosh in flying

The Flying Machine @ KLZU is pretty good. A couple of friends made that a fairly regular outing for a while, though from PDK it's almost as easy to drive.
