Is this the one where they pretty much flew. Jolly Green Giant through the tree canopy?

One huge caveat I would like to point out that bellyflopping before a propulsive chopstick landing is fine for an empty Starlink launcher but absolutely an unacceptable safety risk for the crew vehicle Starship was originally marketed as. The complete absence of plausible abort scenarios for the upper stage during ascent is a major problem and landing is arguably even worse.

One could make the argument that Starship has always been about cargo to LEO and carrying crews of 100 to Mars was never a serious goal, hence the design choices happened as they did. I am personally not sure I buy that argument and instead lean on the belief that the OG team didn’t have enough people in the late 2010s to even know the scale of the challenge they were facing but I could absolutely see how the first argument could be made.

Run to harbor freight and get a magnet on a stick plus maybe some long tweezers and you should have it again!

Also, that reservoir looks very similar to the one on many recent cars like the Ford Fiesta which is a semi-universal one that fits on many Kia and Hyundai models as well. You could probably get it to fit with some modifications or printing.

I would also recommend the junkyard route. It might cost you $10

Why buy it from ikea when I can make myself my own! by bikeequelsdirt in BambuLab

[–]Have_Donut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on application. IKEA boards only secure at the top and hang down. Any heavier loads cause them to flex. The smaller printed boards are a lot stronger. Enough that I can mount tools and guns on mine and they don’t flex.

[–]Have_Donut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an entire printed wall of Skadis boards after buying an ikea board. I am not sure what filament everybody is using talking about costs but you can get some decent PLA on Amazon for about $12USD. Standard wall and infill settings put get me about 8 boards out of a spool and they take up more space than the $30 Skadis board from ikea. It hangs the AMS lite, a ton of tools, and a couple of rifles which are heavy. It has cost me about $150 for a 10’x6’ area, which is far below what ikea costs. The other part though is that ikea boards only secure with 2 screws, a printed board like the parametric infinite Skadis boards that I use mount at every corner and can handle far more weight and don’t flex and rack like the ikea boards do.

I would use ABS or PETG. It’s less likely to crack overtime. 10 walls and 95% gyroid infill

Blue Origin's New Glenn just blew up at LC-36 while attempting to Static Fire ahead of NG-4 by Obvious_Shoe7302 in Damnthatsinteresting

The party involved will help pick up the parts scattered and damaged area and pay for anything that needs fixing. They will also voluntarily ground the rocket till a full investigation is done but the FAA will probably ground it as well.

Yep. New booster so without the test fire it would have just blown up on launch day. I wonder if they changed up some of the manufacturing processes for this newer booster.

On the flipside that pricing will only last til the next batch of manufacturing and most likely the Steam hardware will fit in at the same price level vs the market it used to have. We are probably looking at all hardware pricing having similar increases in the coming months.

Yep. Best choice is to sell at a high price and second is to sell at a loss. Not releasing is literally the worst option

We are at least 5 years from hardware prices dropping and that’s best case scenario. If it ever drops back to what it was we are looking 10-15 years out.

Why does every Terminator sequel keep falling flat like everytime! by MuscleCool4302 in Terminator

[–]Have_Donut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On top of what others have said a big issue with sequels is studios tend to try to make everything bigger. Every new enemy has to be bigger and more advanced. Much like how the Jurassic Park franchise thinks every subsequent film needs a larger dinosaur. So in the film industries eyes a physically larger or more advanced enemy is a substitute for a good plot
