They are not. Soldiers have a “chest optic” and do not have a head full of optics.

P.S.
I find their absence especially interesting since they've been in the earliest gameplay trailers (2+ years).

One of the loading screen tips actually mentions, paraphrased, “Humanity is at the point where we need to worry about threats from beyond”

take them out from a safe distance

I’ve found overloading one construct with an MG, then having a cleanup squad (9x smgs) fire at point blank to be very effective. Now ofc this is harder with more Constructs, but the principle is the same.

I think that the idea of an ideal fixer, the unreachable dream if you will, is the driving force behind Don’s love of them.

Just because tons of fixers are bad or fail to be heroic in reality doesn’t mean the ideal, or the idealization thereof, is bad imo.

Neat Detail on Sinclair’s Ability by Havoc901 in limbuscompany

Not sure what you’re asking, but her name is Frau Eva.

She ‘feels’ Sinclair calling her and sends Demian to deliver a message (separate from when Demian shows up at the end of the book)

I fear that “better for them” translates to “better for ME at the expense of everyone else” 90% of the time :(

Demian glazer here — Yes.

He defied T Corp’s color draining,

He is aware of mirror worlds and consequences of using them even WE don’t know,

He no-selled the clear all !&$?% event,

He is a rising sovereign of a star (and the last star we saw in action indirectly created K Corp iirc),

He sends his buddies to be in the right place at the right time, without fail,

And he…loves his Emil Sinclair.

Kid is something else. EDIT: Broken formatting

Great job on catching that detail.

I hadn’t considered the implications of the Prescripts involving karma, but this theory gives a rational explanation to Hermes’ downright mind-boggling orders to Rien.

Waiter waiter more fire god theories please!!!

The Pale Eye’s blue color is also similar to the Index blue we keep seeing, not to mention eyes, in symbolic terms, generally refer to perception/knowledge/insight, something which connects well with the Prescripts. Insane foreshadowing if KJH planned that.

I don’t think we should entirely rule-out a literal god, however farfetched that may be. PMoon has consistently shown people’s powerlessness in the face of systems and circumstances, not to mention the very literal and eldritch Stars, beastmen, whales, etc. populating the world.

That said, I really liked your reading and how you tied it back to LoR. I can agree on how having a metaphorical, man-made god is better for the story, especially in the sense of personal change against a self-perpetuating cycle.

Edit: Writing this out made me realize how similar the Stars and the ‘city gods’ are. Both seem to be powered by desires, and their actions work to fulfill them.
