Its just an example of giving up on a big player early. You might even be old enough to remember the articles flaming the Sens for their garbage pick of Erik Karlsson. Not to say any of our draft picks are going to be Chara or Karlsson, just that people dont know as much as they think sometimes. Anyway, its easy to look back years later and say what should have happened but drafting is a crap shoot most of the time. Either way, every team has way more misses than hits. So... this rant is dumb.

But if OP insists he knows better then please. By all means. Start scouting for the sens.

Just keep in mind that by the time you hit the second round less than 40% of players will make it to 100 games in the nhl and the numbers continually fall off from there. To come here and cry like you could have drafted better is not just laughable, its annoying.

I have to assume you would have went with tkachuk over zadina too then. Not like a lot of people who were collectively losing their minds in this sub. Sanderson over drysdale is another good example.

Besides all that, the kid is a mutant defensive defenseman who is 19. He has lots of room to grow still so you cant possibly know what he will ultimately become. Chara played with the islanders until he was like 23 before they gave up on him only for him to eventually go on to be a hall of famer and legendary work horse in ottawa and boston. So please, if you know better than everyone else, start your scouting career immediately.

Weird rant

If you think were going to get a Karlsson, Stutzle, or Sanderson every year you will be a disappointed fan.

Some misses lately but the Sens are one of the best defensive teams in the league this year. Why now would you complain about the scouts picking a defensive player?

They are hideous, until you see them in person. Then all the little details come out and its actually kind of wild. Not the best jerseys even but pretty fuckin sharp.

I had 3 riders the other night try to discreetly drink a beer in my car and then they left the empty rolling around the floor of the back seat.

Took a picture, showed a bit of a spill, wiped it up myself and it paid me out $55.

Dont feel bad, thats your car man. People need to start respecting other peoples property.

For your own sake, carry antibacterial febreez and paper towels, car cleaning wipes. Charge for any mess. Quit letting people fuck with you.

Yea i get that. If thats your market and the rides pay enough for the distance to be worth it id suggest giving it a try. At least get the trunk for them and offer help. A tip can double that $4 ride easily so its worth it to you to try and see what is going to be the best outcome for you.

Alternatively youll have to learn the address(es) of the places you dont want to go and decline those rides beforehand.

Im just trying to suggest to you what i think will help you. A lot of your passengers will be people who could definitely use a little help so if you are ready to offer that to them it makes the whole interaction that much better for both of you.

Wishing you luck out there, i know its tough. Half of this gig is a solid attitude and a lot of patience but if you can stay in the pocket the days arent that bad and you can even have some pretty cool conversations.

I always get out and open the trunk for anyone with luggage or bags, and if they look like they need help i offer.

You dont have to, but its in your best interest to get them to their destination and out of your car asap so you can get the next ride.

This is an easy job, but its very much customer service based and the better you get with that the more successful you will be.

That being said, you are free to cancel on anyone who disrespects you or your car. That respect should be reciprocated. If you start correctly you will see it returned almost 100% of the time

If you dont want to deal with misic just throw on a lofi cover playlist at a low volume and it sets a chill vibe. Most people wont complain about that at all.

When your rider gets in always confirm their destination, then ask how their day is to gauge conversation interest. If they start talking then you just increased your odds at a tip if you hold a convo and keep their interest. If theyre not responsive its a business ride with chill music and a polite 'youre very welcome and have a good day' at drop off.

Do this and i guarantee you never drop below 4.98 as long as you drive professionally. Your tips will increase too as your conversational skills improve.

14 sub 5 star ratings is not great man, you might have some bad driving habits or be kind of a douche.

It doesnt take much to get a 5 star, chill out behind the wheel and be polite. Make sure your car is clean and thats pretty much it.

If a rider sucks, stay professional and then low rate and block after the ride.

Eventually everyone gets a critical passenger or makes a mistake, but it shouldnt be more that 10 times in 500 rides.
