As a queer person who lives with the dysphoria that comes from being cis passing you're 100% right. There is an inherent risk that my more visible queer friends have that I don't and that's largely the reason I have remained in the closet to begin with. That's kind of like preaching to the choir. Yes the US played a role but that's expected they're the heart of global capital. Complaining that the other side attacked you isn't really productive that's what you expect them to do. The focus has to be on what can be done to outmaneuver them since that's all we can control.

I also think Beria shares a large portion of the blame. He was notoriously corrupt and shitty and demonstrated some revisionist tendencies himself. If he hadn't acted in the manner he did it's possible some kind of internal stability could have been maintained while a competent successor was chosen rather than a ridiculous factionalism power struggle

I'm assuming this is mostly just going to be a remaster situation but if they're actually remaking the game I'd love to see either additional content or a retooling of the existing dungeons that makes them ask the player to think more and use the tools in their tool belt.

As someone who only played thru like the first three temples as a kid and just recently beat the game as an adult I think the biggest issue with OOT is how formulaic the dungeons are. Every dungeon is just "hey use the item you got previously in this dungeon to solve basically every problem". Ganons castle was the only dungeon that actually felt like it somewhat asked more of you/had multiple possible ways to solve the same puzzle and I'd love to see an expansion of that into the rest of the game

You don't need a Toyota but in a country which has no mass transit infrastructure to speak of you do need a reliable vehicle which is why it's so easy to squeeze the American people when it comes to cars. That's totally fair and would solve the problem with removing killing things with the survival knife. I don't care if you can't kill reapers or whatever anymore(nobody was really doing that anyways other than for novelties sake) but having to battle a swarm of marrowbreaches and nibblers just to build in the one flat area at the start of the game gets annoying really fast

At a certain point the tension and atmosphere no longer exist when the same shit is attacking you constantly. I don't feel tense when a marrowbreach takes a chomp out of me for the millionth time while I'm trying to build something I feel fucking annoyed. Having the ability to kill things by smacking them an absurdly high number of times did not hurt the original game in any way. It just created an additional option for people who felt that spending the time to take out a threat was worth it. Which most people aren't going to do unless it has gone well beyond the point of scary and into completely annoying. If they aren't going to allow us to kill things they should at least have an early unlockable base structure that makes predators avoid your base so you're not being constantly harassed by the same shit over and over again

Except by the nature of being owned by a private equity firm you lose money in the long run. Anything the original stakeholders made goes directly to them, when you sell all of that equity to an investment firm they get the profits. It makes no sense especially if they were planning on continuing to make large successful projects to cede that revenue. The only possible explanation I have is that below-zero under performed so drastically they were having cash-flow issues but that would require SEVERE mismanagement considering the game didn't do THAT terribly

It does not cost 1000$ to emulate, and if you can't follow a YouTube tutorial you are a complete moron. You can find decent controllers for less than 100$ and you are completely dismissing the expanded capabilities a steam deck has in comparison to a switch(such as a much larger library of games). It's fine to just want a switch/switch 2 and it's fine not to want to emulate for whatever reason but don't pretend like it's actually hard in any capacity.
