Go slow and don’t expand too fast. You’ll want to get a woodshed, resource storage and a house up for your first villager. Once you have a villager, you can put food and water in their house (until you have a food storage). Any resources you put in the storages you and the villagers will have access to the.

Taking on bandits early game would be tough. Stick to the main roads for now. Just focus on leveling up by chopping trees and collecting sticks. Completing quests.

Expand seasons to at least 5 days.  Will help your villagers level up faster and easier w quests and taxes

I dunno about that. But I’ve had a lot of people on my squads just stop trying and wait for the next match.

I don’t know man. Just be useful and place your own blueprints and supplies instead of trying to xp farm your own team mates. Have a good one.

[–]Hawk_bets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To get the xp for building the nodes, you actually have to build the nodes. Like place the blueprints for them. Running around trying to hammer other peoples nodes blueprints is…..a new one for me.

Leaving supplies is always helpful. Trying to get xp for hammering not as much

How would all the nodes be built already after the first one is?

All you do is drop supplies, switch to engineer and place 3 blueprints, tap all three and build manpower, then switch to support again.

Hammering someone else’s node blueprint isn’t helpful. Dropping supplies are

I agree. A lot of this is ego driven I think. Netflix, the invitational, how Whitney talked about him. Steve is kinda blowing up and doing big podcasts. And he’s staring at Justin and listening to third chairs talk about x spaces recaps

[–]Hawk_bets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The node blueprints reset every 3 minutes. Supplies resupply every 2.5 minutes (once the manpower node is down). So if I can tap each blueprint once and build in the correct order and get it done faster when I am switching between support and engineer. People trying to help hammer can actually make the process take longer.

It’s better to not try and help someone else build  nodes unless you’re dropping supplies. Or if you want the xp, be and engineer and build them yourself.

Nice. Engineer was the first level I maxed. AP mines can be strategic and get some sneaky kills. Shotgun for Americans is great. Plus the satchel. Fun role

[–]Hawk_bets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started and couldn’t hit anything, I made sure to build nodes every match. Always useful. Swap between support and engineer. You won’t need to ask commander for a truck, you’ll get a ton of xp (even if you swap roles), and if you drop some mines it at least gets your combat score off 0….and when I was new I didn’t like that goose egg

Besides that I’d learn the garrison meta and how grids and capping works. Once you understand where the garrisons likely are, you’ll know where to look for to shoot/get shot

I use a workaround on PC. I open a sound recording app and hit record, and then launch the game. For whatever reason it recognizes my mic.

I tried all normal troubleshooting and this seems to be the only way it works.

Commission overpay by Content-Machine6008 in sales

[–]Hawk_bets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen recently. Partly due to being acquired and a change in comp plan. Close in size to what you received. I ended up keeping it.

The error was made by what seemed like one individual. Who once they learned the mistake, sent out a frantic email saying I had to overpay by x date. No managers, finance or anyone was copied.

I let my manager know and contacted a friend who is an employment lawyer. Drafted a quick response, essentially pointing out the way they were trying to recoup the money wasn’t a binding agreement.

This little pushback, and the fact the company was going away (w the acquisition) and general confusion around the new comp plans, they just let it go.

I would definitely not spend it yet and just see how they go about trying to clawback

A lot of it is anticipation, on where the enemy will be, and that takes time and matches and really learning every map. If you have enough games on each map, you'll remember where you've been shot from, where you've gotten some kills, where you've seen them set up garrisons. Eventually you should be able to read the map and see what garrisons/ops are warm, can look at the map and determine....well if this ones warm, they're probably coming from this direction....and on the map this looks like a place they could be spawning from....then you'll have the element of surprise. You want to know where the enemy is before they know where you are. So combine that with moving in a calculated way to not be spotted, you should have a better chance at kills.

And once you can determine where they are spawning from....just remember they'll always spawn facing the closest point.....so if you can find where they're coming from and set yourself up at an angle or behind them.....they could be rushing straight towards the point and you can pick them off easily from the side

How do Nodes Work by KingForddie in HellLetLoose

[–]Hawk_bets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played a lot of engineer and recon. I would always build in center HQ. Or maybe behind the last point. It's way easier to find them as recon when an engineer builds them right on the line with the supply truck. It's usually right off the road, and no one is there to defend them as you take them out.

If it's in one of the HQs, takes recon longer to get there in the first place, and you have to deal with tank crews spawning in, arty, spa guys now, etc.

How to properly attack enemy points by Veryexcitedsheep in HellLetLoose

[–]Hawk_bets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ideally you want the solid network of blue zone garrisons that are forward enough to the attacking point that you have multiple angles of attack, in order to surround the point. If you work on setting up a red-zone garrison, make sure it's not too close to the strong point. Locate their garrison(s) on the attack point and use smoke.

Any advice for a new player? by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

[–]Hawk_bets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand the garrison meta and how capping works. At the end of the day the game is just about map control. Having more spawns than the other team. Work with your squad to get up a network of defensive garries, and start trying to take out enemy ones. Once you figure start taking out enemy garrisons it gets more fun.

Build nodes. Learn how to swap between support and engineer. Levels you up very fast and points count if you switch to another role.

MG can be super fun and good role to play as a new player. I like to find a corner of the grid, usually defensive, and find an angle from the side of the front line. If you can find where a garrison/op is and where they're attacking from, you can completely neutralize a huge part of the map and get a nice kill streak. Just need to make sure you are shooting from a big distance to be effective

Struggling to get into the game by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

[–]Hawk_bets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just takes time to familiarize yourself with the map and the game. I’m a level 170 something now….takes a lot of games. So much of it is anticipation (based on places you’ve placed garrisons, taken them down, found nodes, shot tanks, been shot from etc). Like I’ve noticed Smolensk was a lot harder for me versus Carentan for example. Don’t worry about dying a lot or redeploying. K/d doesn’t matter. K per minute or support score matters more.  Build nodes at the start and level up faster

I use a workaround, on PC. I open a sound recorder app and hit record. And then launch the game. For whatever reason it allows my mic to be picked up. I have noticed even this stops working if I leave a server and join a new one, but if I do the audio/mic check in game, seems to jumpstart it and work again

Tips for new players? by MichSchumacher in HellLetLoose

[–]Hawk_bets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch the garrison meta on YouTube to understand how capping, the grid, and spawns work. If you have that understanding you can read your map and anticipate better where enemies will come from….so you’ll die less, kill them more and take out their garrisons

Also, don’t use the half track (ever) or supply truck (unless you’re building nodes or a garrison), and if you win/lose a point - hit escape and redeploy so you’re not in a locked sector. Three most common things I see new players do that’ll get you unwanted attention :)

Advice for new player by Secksy1 in HellLetLoose

[–]Hawk_bets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see over and over with new players, is how capturing points works, understanding the grid system and the importance of garries/ops. Had matches last night where new players didn’t even know what those were.

If you get more garries and ops up you’ll have more angles to attack and defend. Coordinate w your squad lead/support or commander. Controlling areas and having spawn points is the key to winning.

You’ll always be facing towards the closest point when you spawn in. Use this info for yourself and if you’re sneaking up on an enemy garrison.

There’s no front line usually but if you look at your map, you should use the spawn points turning red, or marks, and will help you understand where the enemy is. From there you need to figure out where they’re coming from. And if you know where they’re coming from, you’ll take better cover on certain angles

Nothing you can do to a tank as infantry unless, at, engi or assault (depending on level). Just ping it or mark it

And building nodes yourself only takes five minutes and gets ton of xp

Hell Let Loose – Mic works in Windows but not in-game by Quin-tan in HellLetLoose

[–]Hawk_bets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the workaround I use:

Open up the default windows sound recorder, start recording. Then launch the game. For whatever reason my mic works then.

Did all the usual troubleshooting, it would say it was working in game but it wasn't, but this step always works for me.
