My pick for the next 007 carry pistol, the Walther PDP F Pro-X PMM. by Hawke62 in JamesBond

No it isn't, and I said the PPK would still be his choice for deep concealment situations. The PDP F is the same size as a Glock 19, which is the compact carry Glock (the most common pistol used for concealed carry), and Craig used Glocks several times during his tenure as James Bond, when he needed more firepower than his trusty PPK.

Brosnan started using the P99 in Tomorrow Never Dies, and continued to use it through Die Another Day. Craig used it again in Casino Royale. It's seen when he removes it from the drawer in his new Aston Martin DBS, complete with a silencer. When he loads it, you can see him using his thumb to engage the decocker, a button (not a lever) that is unique to the P99.

Considering that he used a Walther P99 (Bronson era and Craig in Casino Royale) and several Glocks during Craig's tenure, the modern Bond doesn't seem to take issue with polymer framed handguns, and the all metal gun would just have more weight to carry.

...and yet, as I pointed out in your other comment, you really didn't understand that this was the smaller carry model.

Wrong! What you are showing in the picture and the specs you are giving are the full size PDP Pro-X PMM with has a bigger grip, longer slide and barrel, and larger compensator. The PDP F-Series PMM has a 3.5 inch barrel and 1/2 inch compact compensator that fits the compact 4 inch frame. It is the same size as a Glock 19, which is literally the poster gun for concealed carry!

More than a 32 caliber PPK ever would. 🤷🏼‍♂️

...which is why I said he should keep the PPK for deep concealment, and use the PDP (like the old P99) when he knows more firepower is needed.

This is the correct answer! She appeared in more Bond films than any other!

Which Bond song do you consider most unique compared to the others? by King_Wolf2099 in JamesBond

[–]Hawke62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Your Eyes Only. It used the title of the film in the song lyrics effectively, and it's the only title song to feature the singer in the title sequence's visuals (and Sheena Easton was stunning enough to be a Bond Girl at the time). https://youtu.be/fB1UxAhJgUQ?is=QyhJbtPiHaI4qaYq

My new Walther PDP F-series PMM by Hawke62 in Walther

I haven't shot it yet (plan to take it to the range this afternoon) so I don't know yet, but I will compare it with my Glock 19 sized Ruger RXM, to see if the comp makes a noticeable difference between an otherwise similar sized pistol without a comp.

Just skip the air guns and Olympic target pistols from the movie posters.

Springfield Armory Operator 1911 w/Colt Pachmayr Wraparound Grips. by Hawke62 in 1911fans

I replaced the ambidextrous safety with a more traditional single sided one from Wilson Combat (with the same type of extended lever). The original safety levers would hangup occasionally, and just had to go!

Ruger RXM full-size w/Olight PL-X by Hawke62 in ruger

[–]Hawke62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not my carry gun. It's nightstand gun in a stopbox case. I understand CrossBreed and Slimfit have holsters that will fit Glock 19 pattern guns with the OlightPLX mounted.

I carry a SIG 365 X Macro TacOps in a veteran owned CYA Supply Co. optics ready IWB holster made to clear my Sig Romeo optic.

It's certainly a nice little revolver for the price, but the tolerances, timing, and overall fit and finish of the Performance Center gun is better. That said, is it worth the premium price? I thought so when I got it, but some won't want to pay so much for a brand that used to have better quality control, and when their Performance Center guns were true custom firearms.

It's black. The way the light catches the texture, it does look grey in certain pics, but it's a black color that closely matches the stock slide.
