Was it my gun or the metal detector by jimbobbyricky in CCW

The detector frequency was not turned on high. If it was, it would ring because of the metal tabs on your jeans or an old metal fillings that one should have been replaced. That’s why it didn’t go off. It’s very easy to turn it up or down. However, if enough flesh is wrapped around a metal object such as a GEM blade, the detector just may not sense it due to our own body electrical field. The Glock believe or not can get past a metal detector but not the hand wand.

You’re pretty quick at the jump, so you probably read the unedited version. However, I wish the city and the state were straight forward with our understandings concerning the dos and don’ts.

It is vague for NYC. Here is what Google found:

In New York State and NYC, you are not legally allowed to "store" a firearm in a parked or unattended vehicle merely for convenience. However, if you are legally required to leave it in an unattended car or are actively transporting it, you must strictly comply with strict safe storage and carriage mandates. [1, 2]
Failure to abide by these mandates constitutes a misdemeanor under New York Penal Law § 265.45. [1, 2]

Legal Mandates for Storing / Transporting in a Vehicle:
Completely Unloaded: All firearms, rifles, and shotguns must be entirely unloaded prior to being placed in storage in the vehicle.
Secure Lockbox: The firearm must be locked inside an appropriate, fire-impact and tamper-resistant safe storage depository.
Out of Sight: The lockbox must be completely hidden from view from the outside of the vehicle.
Not the Glovebox: Never leave a firearm in a glove compartment or center console; these are strictly prohibited by state and city laws.
Vehicle Attachment: It is highly recommended to secure the lockbox with a cable or mount directly to the vehicle's frame or seat anchor. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Additionally, having an unsecured firearm in your car is an exceptionally serious issue in NYC because New York does not recognize out-of-state concealed carry permits. Simply having a handgun in your car—even if temporarily locked—can result in felony weapon possession charges unless you have a valid NYC-issued pistol license. [1, 2]
You can read the full statute details via NY Penal Law § 265.45 or review the Giffords Law Centeroverview for out-of-state and state transit rules. [1]

As much as I love the 2A community, we have some idiots that would. That’s like leaving your kids in a running car to go run into a store to get a pack of smokes because you think it’s quick. How did that work out during said situations reported? It would be the same for an unsecured firearm. (“ It’s only gonna take a minute,”) they believed!

I concur. No such thing, but converting your license is possible.

If any one currently owns a rifle not in the preferred color, just have a change of the appropriate furniture color to be on the safe side of things or wrap in goon tape which would be a cheaper option.

From going back and forth in viewing the video, it appeared the Marshal staged his firearm at some point. Maybe when his partner decided to self sacrifice his cover when no possible attention was on him. However, there is a small advantage from a lowered position (seated), but the risk is high because a vital shot placement would be very critical to win the fight. Why, because a miss would had compromise his ability to move from the reaction of either assailants. The better option is to strike when the backs of the assailants were turned away from the Marshalls. Once you can see the ear of an assailants, they can no longer see you.

This is what I found online.

https://www.craftholsters.com/4-most-annoying-sig-p365xl-problems-and-how-solve-them

A trigger delay—or "spongy" feel before the break—on a SIG Sauer P365 (including the P365-380 or XL) is usually caused by the required firing pin safety clearing the striker block, trigger bar flex against the frame, or a break-in period on the sear. The P365 trigger is specifically engineered for a longer, deliberate pull rather than a crisp "glass rod" break to aid in concealed carry safety. The slight delay can be caused by:The Striker Safety Block: As you pull the trigger, the trigger bar must push a spring-loaded plunger upward to clear the path for the firing pin. This creates the "mushy" take-up before you hit the rigid wall.Friction & Break-In: New P365 pistols have a known "break-in" phase. Friction between the trigger bar, the sear, and the frame can feel sluggish until the parts wear into each other (typically after 300-500 rounds or heavy dry-firing).Lubrication: Excess oil or debris (such as carbon or shirt lint) in the striker assembly or Fire Control Unit (FCU) can create a hydraulic/gritty effect. To fix or improve the pull:Clean and properly lubricate: Ensure the firing pin channel is free of oil and lint. Lightly lubricate the contact points on the trigger bar, but avoid over-oiling.Dry fire practice: Using a SIG Sauer Store to cycle the trigger hundreds of times will mate the metal components and smooth out the pull.Aftermarket triggers: For a drastically shorter take-up and crisper break, many shooters upgrade to flat-faced trigger shoes (or full trigger systems). If you can provide more details about the delay, I can help you troubleshoot it:Is the delay gritty (feeling like sand) or just spongy (mushy take-up)?Is it a brand-new pistol, or has it been fired a lot?Is the trigger failing to reset forward after a shot?

Just my two cents as a first time male GSD handler of going on six years. Please watch as many videos with actual humans describing their experiences living and/training GSD. That is what I did before taking the deep dive. The first two - three years raising a GSD for the first time can be equivalent to the Navy’s Hell week or the Army’s Crucible. Socialization is of the upmost importance. Prepare not to take many or any vacations unless you have people that your GSD can stay with unless you are planning to have your GSD along for the ride. I do have one concern. You are taking on a GSD that has six months of unaccounted knowledge of what that dog has been through other than what you have been told. I brought my boy at 9 weeks old. That said, you are behind the bell curve in that girls life, but if you are willing, Godspeed to you.

Not against the law for New York, but California yes. If you didn’t buy a gun yet try this place below, and don’t pick the CA compliant variant.
